It took me 7 years of hard work to get my website income up to the level where I felt I could quit the day job. I realise that's probably not what anyone starting out would want to hear. For many people, it is not spectacular enough. People want to hear how to get rich quickly and they want the shortcut to instant riches. I understand. There are many people saying that they have the secret code that can propel you to success with absolutely minimal effort; in some cases, apparently by just pushing a button.

Sometimes, we just have to make the mistakes for ourselves in order to really learn � not head knowledge, but a tacit understanding � that if something sounds too good to be true, it usually is. In those seven years of effort, I have bought my fair share of duff products that promised the Earth and delivered very little. However, getting from the phase of chasing the secret to establishing a workable plan is a very important step that all newbies need to take.

If you will simply commit yourself to creating a good quality site that is genuinely useful to other people, you will soon be ahead of 80% of those who are chasing their fortune online. Even if all you do is write a blog, you can still make it a useful blog. Something that will inspire and entertain people. When you do that, other people will eventually find your site and they will voluntarily link to it out of merit. The result is that your site will quite naturally rise in the search rankings (SERPS). That was the way Google originally conceived its algorithm would work and it does.

So after 7 years of continuous hard work, here are my results. Firstly, here are my visitor stats:

Would you believe that nearly 98% of Americans worry about money on a daily basis. That leaves 2% of Americans that we consider wealthy. Did you know that many disputes that arise in a relationship all come down to usually one thing. MONEY!

In today's current economic status, this is as close to the truth you will find. Living paycheck to paycheck is becoming the new standard of living in the U.S. Today, many of us worry about having enough money to make ends meet. Like most of us, we are just one unexpected vehicle repair or an emergency home repair away from being in the negatives and on a downward spiral into the financial abyss. Out of the 98%, I am willing to bet that each of them could easily benefit from adding an additional income to help ease the burden of making ends meet and supplement the rising cost of food, gas and clothing.
In the past, a person would need to take on another part-time job to supplement their income, which would limit one's time at home to be with their family and would significantly into their leisure time, leading to fatigue, stress and frustration. But today, a person can earn extra income by becoming part of the growing online business opportunities and utilizing the internet all on a part-time basis. Many of these online business opportunities are systems built around the full-time person looking for that system that will allow them to generate and extra $300, $500 or even a $1000 per month or more, working part-time and from the comfort of their home. In fact, many people who have turned to an online business opportunity have began to make enough money to start doing an online business full-time and usually quit their full-time job. Although, the results are not typical for everyone so don't go and quit your job just yet. Results can be determined by your dedication and your involvement. Some people in their first few months earn $500 dollars per month just giving 3-5 hours per week and some people don't earn anything. Running an online business shares the same concepts of running a physical business. Don't expect your business to grow without effort.

Anyone that is part of the MLM/Home Business knows that having good leads is the lifeblood to our business. But what can we do once we have exhausted all of our warm market and offered the opportunity to friends and family? Finding new leads and eager prospects to join your MLM is only as far away as the internet.

A Few Options for Finding MLM Leads:

SPAM Emailing is one way of trying to generate leads. This method is considered a little unethical so I would recommend not doing a spam campaign. Your return is going to be so marginal compared to the people that you completely aggravate, it's not worth the money, time or energy. There are far better sources for mlm leads that are also much more time and cost effective.

Online Advertising is a decent source for mlm leads. Use online classifieds, post your information on mlm bulletin boards, and promote your opportunity where ever possible. Forums are a good place to advertise your opportunity, just don't wear out your welcome. Use taglines in your emails and links in your personal web pages.

Search Engine Key Words is a way you can buy key words on search engines for various mlm leads and opportunities or also known as Pay Per Click (PPC). Use the Google's Adwords keyword tool to find the most searched phrases, then create an advertisement that will be displayed on similar web pages that target these keywords. On average, you can target great keywords for anywhere from .10 per click to 5.00 per click, based on how hot the keyword is. The benefit when searching for mlm leads is that the leads are directed to you, you are not out actively searching for them.

Rep Listing on various sites is a good way to generate leads. If you are involved in an MLM and are looking for new prospects already interested in that mlm, there is probably no better place than with a rep listing. As an active rep, you are going to receive more qualified mlm leads who find your info while searching for information on the company you are involved in, than you are going to find through most other direct advertising mediums.

Newspaper Ads is another source for MLM leads. Newspaper ads are a little more costly but reaches a very wide market. When doing a newspaper or magazine ad, include a URL, so prospects can visit a website and view information and a live phone number. Not a number where the prospect will recieve a recorded message but when the prospect calls, they will show more interest on your opportunity since you are taking the time to actually answer your phone and speak with them. Most newspaper ads are placed in the help wanted section. Some can be deceiving, I believe that enticing prospects with an add focused on gathering MLM leads and recruiting prospects with promises of fast riches is unethical and in some instances has led to action by state and government officials. Times are tough enough. No one wants to be taken advantage of.

Npros.com is a website where prospects visiting the site may request secure information on business opportunities. After completing the form, the leads become available to members of Npros affiliate program. Affiliates may create a marketing message and have it securely forwarded to prospects. Prospects are more likely to provide their info and request information when they know they are not going to be randomly spammed.

Lead Brokers are companies that distribute many different types of ad campaigns along with lead capture pages through out the internet pertaining to a certain demographic. If a person is interested in what the ad offers, then the prospects fill out a form on the capture page and in return, the information is relayed back to the lead broker. Once the information is received, then the lead broker sales the lead.

Lead Generation Systems such as MyLeadSystemPro are programs that eliminate most of the guess work when it comes to generating your own leads. It is a web based system that requires a monthly fee but this system has ad campaigns, lead capture pages, autoresponders, etc. already in place to help you fast track your lead generating.

Finding quality MLM leads once you have worked your way through your personal network is important when growing a business. The most important thing to do is determine what method you are going to use, then take an active stance and manage your mlm lead gathering program on a regular basis. If you are new to the MLM industry, try sticking to one resource when it comes to generating your own leads. Take the time to see what is and isn't working. Many successful entrpreneurs know that buidling a successful MLM isn't done in a few days. Consistency and effort will always win the race.

How To Spot An Email Scam From 5000 Miles Away

Though there are thousands of varieties of email scams, the methods of detection are fairly elementary.

Distributors of email scams will often provide misleading information in the pursuit of profit via stealing the recipient�s money. There are many signs that make it obvious the email is a scam but it�s necessary to know the signs to recognize a scam email and, thereby, avoid it.

The following pointers should equip you with the knowledge necessary to spot an email scam from miles away.

1. Beware of links

Before you click on any links in a suspicious email message, rest your mouse over the link, without clicking it, to reveal whether or not the address matches the text link typed in the message.

Exercising caution with links is necessary because they can often lead to .exe files. These kinds of files are known to spread malicious software that can be detrimental on varying levels.

2. Check the return address

Those that are looking to perpetrate scams tend to use free email accounts from providers such as Yahoo! and Hotmail.

First check the return address then determine whether the content seems too good to be true. For example, if you just received an email telling you you just won the lottery in Ghana, your spidey senses should be blaring.

3. Spelling and bad grammar

Cybercriminals are typically, not proficient in grammar and spelling. Remember that most perpetrators of scams are not from the same country as you.

Think about it, would professional companies or organizations with an entire staff of copy editors allow a mass email like this to go out to its users? If you notice grammatical errors in an email, take it as a strong sign that it may be a scam.

Keep an eye out for multiple words or sentences written in all uppercase letters or followed by a string of exclamation points. Professional marketers and business representatives would never write in this way.

4. Chain letters

Emails that contain forwarding instructions are typically scams and should probably be deleted instead. These chain mail type letters most often contain misleading information and/or dangerous software.

Also, remember that any email asking you to wire money by Western Union or a similar service will always be a scam. Additionally, never give up personal information to anyone who asks you to do this.

5. Cons and spoofs

Have you ever received a threat from an insecure source that your email account would be closed if you didn�t respond to the message? Cybercriminals will often threaten that your security will be compromised to trick you into putting down your guard.

Scam artists will also use graphics in email that appear to be connected to legitimate websites. When in actuality they take you to phony scam sites or legitimate-looking pop-up windows that are far from what they appear to be.

After reviewing these telltale signs, you will have learned the skills you need to identify most email scams on your own. Simply be aware of their tactics to detect scams in advance to avoid any detriment to your future marketing endeavors.

Forums :- It is an online platform for discussions like club meeting or a round - table discussions, and it is done in writing only. Most forums allow to use a signature file where one can include affiliate link but some forums won't allow to include these links. Here, in forums focus must be on to build reputation and make contacts.
Viral Marketing :- It is a fantastic way of free online advertising. In viral marketing, just motivate people to pass marketing messages. It can be done by ebooks, emails, attachments, digital products, web pages, downloads etc. It spreads exponentially with a very little effort. Is Santa Economically Viable?

While watching CNN, I caught Richard Quest discussing, "Santanomics - Is Santa Economically Viable?"

Basically, it tries to look at Santa's operation from a business point of view. How he produces his products (toys and other gifts). How he manages his customer database (kids from 1 to 92). How he delivers his goods to fill every order (Christmas wishes).

The findings he got from his analysts:

Assuming that there are 2.2 billion children in the world today, and Santa's company allocates $100 per child, that means he would be spending $22 BILLION this year alone! This doesn't even make room for birth expected birth increases nest year!

His reindeer upkeep will cost him $18,000.

Because he uses them like jet transportation to deliver his good, Santa needs another $12,000 for insurance.

Add another $30,000 for air liability transport fees.

Getting 15% of all total expenses to cover possible accidents, then you get an added expense of $33 billion!

Covering his workforce of elves, it seems Santa's able to save some because elves get paid with different currency - candy. But elfin safety and 30 degrees weather might slow down production at times. And this may cause some financial loss.

And because Santa hasn't protected his name and trademarked it, some companies try to own the rights to the Santa name (Ever seen a Santa-endorsed Coke ad?). Right there, the analysts say that Santa's leaving money on the table.

With expenses bigger than income generation (come to think of it, Santa doesn't seem to have any income generators in place, since all he does is give!), and losses coming from income leaks, the analysts have concluded,

SANTA IS NOT ECONOMICALLY VIABLE!

They're worried about Santa's imminent collapse and the world-wide hearbreak of so many kids!

Is it time to press the Panic Button?

:biggrin: He-he-he ... No. not really.

Even though many have surrendered to the "Bah! Humbug!" movement, there are those who continue to believe that Santa will always pull through for them - Always!

These are the kids from 1 to 92.

No matter how many say that Santa can't continue because of irrefutable proof, they continue to believe.

These kids from 1 to 92 know something sophisticated adults don't.

Looking at Santa from entrepreneurial eyes doesn't work.

The only way, is to look at Santa from kids' eyes!

Wasn't it a kid who once said, "It is with the heart that one can see clearly. What is essential is invisible to the eye!"

I just wanted to stop by and wish you all a Happy Christmas and I hope the new year brings you what you want and desire in 2012.

In my online blog at Home Easy Earn I have just made a post inviting my subscribers and my site visitors an invite to join me on an exciting journey in 2012, and if you want to be part of that journey feel free to join us.

I am sure that you are getting ready for the Christmas holidays and it is the same here. I am about to mingle with the hoards of Christmas shopper as I am under orders from the wife to help her get the last bits of shopping we need for the holidays., but to be honest I am looking forward to it lol

I love this time of year as it is a time of getting together with family and friends and for making time to enjoy each others company. I love the start of the new years as well, as it is a time to make plans and lists of what you want to achieve in the coming year.

One of my plans apart from the exciting journey, is to attend the British Grand Prix this year. Myself and friends from my Facebook page (We Love F1) are going to meet up for the Silverstone weekend in June so it will be a great weekend.

I am big on making lists rather than making new years resolutions. I also make sure that one of the things on the list is to do something that I have always dreamed or wanted to do. I have dreamed about going to a live Grand Prix for years, and this year I am going to achieve that dream.

Well this post has been a bit disjointed to say the least, but I put it down to the Christmas cheer and the excitement.

I hope you and your family enjoy your Christmas and that that you get the presents you wished for.

I have done at last

For years I have struggled with smoking, I had started in the days when smoking was popular, we all did it, like drinking, as soon as we were old enouigh/ legal age, we would start/ I speaking generally, most teens I hung out with back then.
Over the years the truth of the dangers of smoking, not just to ourselves, but also to others around us/ second-hand smoke, has become more publicised.
For me I started at 14 years of age, behind my Parents back, of course, as I got older the desire to quit smoking has become stronger.
In my country New Zealand, our Government subsidises Nicotine Repalcement Therapy to assist those wanting to quit, backed up with great support, I had used thnis method of quitting several times, the last time quitting for 6 months, for me great, I can do it.
The last Year I have been learning a lot about Success, having Goals, and acquiring a business mindset, with this gained knowledge I soon developed a stronger desire to quit, as I believed that smoking can be a hindrance to success, and the goals in which I wanted to attain for my life.
Several months ago I started cutting down, from spending $40 to $50 dollars pr week, to $ 12 dollars a wk.
By the first week of November I had made up my mind, this is it, set my quit date for 10th Nov, have not looked back.
I won't be starting up again, I feel as though chains have been broken.

Yes in all honesty, I had fogotten I had this Blog lol ..
I do have a few other blogs but having another one is just as welcome.. after all its good to use them with a means of getting free traffic and getting noticed!
I decided a while ago that I would set up my blogs to look like a mini website or niche as their now known. It doesn't cost anything and can be put together in a few hours, less than that sometimes depending what you want to put in it. I have a few now which keeps me busy, but I have a method which saves me time and it's a simple case of using the tabs. By using these tabs I can place my different blogs side by side so when I've finished working on one I simply close it down and move on to the next one in line, this makes it easier and saves me time. I use the same method when I want to start posting to forums as well.
The one thing I don't foget though is posting good content in every blog. In my wordpress blog for instance, which I use for marketing, I often put in tips which could hopefully help to solve a problem. I know from experience that people love having their problems solved, so by posting fresh content which is interesting and easily understood you may well find you that you will start to get more traffic to your blog and people wanting to subscribe to learn more from you! :biggrin:

Do you remember that I wrote about how easy it is to let things slide, and at the time I was speaking about not posting a regular update on the blog here? Well I nearly done it again!

I suddenly realised that I had been so busy that I had not updated anything on here for a number of weeks. I do however have a good excuse though.

I have been reading the reviews posted by The Dot Com Boy and to be honest I became interested in offline marketing, specifically for local businesses.

I spent about 3 weeks researching the offline market and realised that it was a huge potential for me to move in to. I then set about planning what I could offer local businesses and targeted 4 services I could offer them.

I set up a dedicated website and done some deals with some other service providers and went live about 4 days ago. I already have 2 clients that I am working with and they appeared by word of mouth.

So why am I telling you all this?

Offline marketing may not be an area you still have not tried or you may think that there are too many people doing it. If you think that way then you may be missing out on a potentially good money making option. This is especially true if you like interacting with real people rather than with email contacts, or friends that only exist in cyber land.

As a person that is constantly learning new online marketing methods and strategies, you would probably be thought of as being a internet marketing expert by offline business owners. Don't think that you don;t know enough because if the truth was told you probably know more about marketing on the internet than most of the local business owners in your area will ever know.

The local offline market is not as big as the online market, but it is still huge. You wont lose much by giving it a try, and who knows you may be very good at it.

This is more of a rant than a true blog, so bear with me. I have acquired so much website information regarding hot mini-sites, e-books, and traffic tips, that I could create a website to sell all of that information back...

I know what Kompozer is, and have actually created an index.html page. And I am familiar with FTP such as FileZilla, however the upload process is confusing at times...

I had a friend of mine load my original wp site via FileZilla, yet the video he sent to me is no longer visible..Possibly expired...

And I became very proficient with creating Weebly websites (see *** ALCOHOL SERVICES NETWORK - Alcohol Treatment and Recovery Services - Welcome to ASN-For those 'in the know' and those who 'need to know'...) and other WYSIWYG styles.

I downloaded so many zip files to my desktop that I needed to create a zip file folder to hold them all...And all of the pertinent PDF and E-books, yes, there are folders for them, too...

I own about 4 or 5 domain names just waiting for a site to call home.

For some reason, I am unable to create a website using the mini-site files, many of them would not open...perhaps I delayed opening them...Not to worry, though, I'm starting to see repeats, so I will just maybe have to pick them up again...

Oh, and if you decide to comment, know that I will reply...Nothing worse than sharing information, and never getting a response from the originator...I see that happen at too many forum posts...Hey, I'm all for you to post what you have to offer...But it would led to the poster's credibility...especially if they hope to build that almighty list...

What a mess our government and some of the EU nations are today!! Yet, the insanity probably won't stop in my lifetime - and maybe not yours. All the countries in the world, no matter where they are, have the same monetary (financial) circumstances. The terrifying thing to me is the unbelievably horrible state of too many of the so called "developed" or "richest" countries (now, that's a stretch!! :w00t: ).

America, the land of opportunity. Home of the free and land of the brave. And so much more unending total bullshit. Elected "leaders" to guide us (??) who have financially destroyed the foundation of our country through massive greed and corruption. Don't believe me about the approximately last three decades of gross incompetence and constant propaganda spewed from politicians' mouths in D.C.? OK. Let me state just one fact for you self-deluded fools (and that's the best compliment I could pay you): our national debt is now at over FOURTEEN TRILLION DOLLARS. Now, what do all you bright economically-savvy readers think that amounts to in just interest each day and year? Over $14,000,000,000,000,000.

Our end was hastened when too many citizens and taxpayers listened to the government economists school of thought which preached that "Debt is good." Sure it is. The more the better! After all, one generation is just leaving the problem for more than one to follow. Are you in your 20s, 30s, or even 40s? Are you proud of your ignorance, apathy and ignorance that has let politicians at the top be reelected term after term? Are you really convinced that all those useless, but horribly damaging, political labels and slogans you still buy into to this day are NOT your responsibility or fault? Heads buried in the sand with your a**** sticking up in the air.

Why don't you just try this little "experiment?" Don't pay your bills -any of them and see what happens. Tell your creditors that you just can't pay them, now, but you would like them to continue providing you their products and/or services. Take out a bank loan and default on it. No problem, right? Of course, not. Nations can't pull that trick off, but I'm sure you can. Don't pay your mortgage for several months and tell your bank or other holder of your mortgage that you'll get around to paying it again when you can.

Obviously, an incredible amount of people in the world - elected and not - don't mind being in debt until they beg for financial ruin to come knocking at their door. I find it extraordinarily hard to tolerate or accept (blind) ignorance. It isn't any excuse.

In the end, well ... there is the end. There are really only two dates that matter to us on this earth. Our birth and death. Nobody lasts forever and eventually, life takes its toll on all of us.

Now, that isn't necessarily bad news - just think of it. You can't avoid your own mortality. Sure, you can spend even years or decades as if there will always be a tomorrow for you. That would be tragic, not just sad or pitiful.

TIME is the most precious resource we have in life, period. Sure, money can offer anybody more options to have a more "comfortable" life. Enough money can make a huge difference in where we live, our health, finances and a whole host of other matters. However, one last time, don't forget that all the money in the world can't and won't guarantee you'll wake up and see another tomorrow.

To me, that makes one conclusion critically important and a must for all the steps you'll take today in/with your life down the path you've chosen. It is up to you to live this day as if it was your last!! Ah, but so very few people let this thought penetrate all the "noise" and garbage in their brain/thoughts to ever come close to seriously contemplating this thought.

Let me close with these two thoughts of my own. Not choosing to do something IS making a choice! This truism has something to do with the old saying about mistakes (errors) being mainly of two kinds: errors of "omission" and those of "commission." Secondly, what do you do with the time you've been blessed with today?? Do you spend it only on things you have told yourself matter to you - and nobody else? There's an enormous amount of hatred, violence, evil, and pain sweeping the world today. Will your life be a testament or legacy to somebody who decided to just add to so much darkness and suffering?

1/...Keep on learning random stuff, because you will "get it" one day, and it will all fall into place!
2/...If you are sufficiently funded, grab a really good mentor and "obey" their system.

It matters not, which system really, as there are squillions.

The thing is to find someone who really knows their biz and someone who will keep you accountable.

Find out your reason WHY you want to pursue this online lifestyle and keep going forwards. The answers will come.

I wrote in my last post about how I realised that I was so busy do lots of different tasks each day that I was not leaving myself enough time to earn money, and some of you asked how I changed things around, so here goes.

First you need to become very professional about what you are doing, and by that I mean you need to do certain tasks that can start to earn you at least some money each day.

For instance, instead of spending every day trying to put together a product that you can sell, start by finding a good affiliate product and start to promote that. If you just make one sale per month that is more than what you made last month. If you can make one sale from that one product each month, you only need to find 9 other product to do the same with, and you will soon be earning 10 times what you was earning.

Think of a skill that you already have that you can offer as a service to other people, and start offering it on Fiverr.com

Make use of the internet, instead of spending 2 days trying to find lots of keyword for your next project, pay someone $5 to do it for you. That way you can spend 2 days earning more money, or setting things in place to bring money in.

Don't have any skills? That's easy to overcome, as there are plenty of software programs that you can purchase and use them to earn money with. I know of at least 2 people that purchased traffic travis, and now use it to carry out SEO checks on other peoples websites for them, and they get paid for doing it.

The better the software is the more you can potentially make by increasing the number of services you can offer. I have highlighted just 2 of the many types of software I would not be without, and yes the links to them are my affiliate links.

Book Marking Demon (BMD) This has hundreds of bookmark sites that you can post to on it, but it also has the potential for you to easily add thousands of other types of bookmark sites to the software. Have you not seen people selling thousands of backlinks on forums?????

Magic Submitter This has the potential for you to set up and run a professional backlinking and marketing business from this one piece of software.

Warning
If you are thinking about using software to help you make money, make sure that you set aside plenty of time to learn how to use the software to a very high level. If you are going to offer a professional service you had better make sure that you can deliver what you are claiming you can.

There is nothing complicated in any of the methods I have mentioned above, but the surprising thing is, that you will be amazed at how many people will read them, and then do nothing about it, and will then still complain they can't make money online.

Just go and do it! that's all you need to do

I am a great believer in getting tasks done for next to no expense and for many years I concentrated on making money online using the Bum marketing technique and creating videos and PDF documents and Ebooks myself.

The only problem with this is that I spent so much time on creating everything I never had time to make any money! I know that sounds silly but that was what was happening. I sat down one day and worked out how much I was earning per hour of work I was doing. The amount is to embarrassing to tell you :sad:

Once I realised what I was doing wrong I just changed what I was doing. I started to reinvest any money I was making in to tools and services that would save me time. The result was that I not only had time to get more things done, but I started to slowly make more money.

What i am trying to say is that, when you first get started online you can make money for little or no investment of your own. The important thing though is to reinvest what you are earning in software, services, or tools that will make your job easier, but don't purchase something just because one person told you it is good. Do your research and find which are the top two or three services or programs that are rated by other marketers or users, and choose carefully before parting with your money.

I have done this for a service I have recently invested in and it has taken my marketing to a whole new level, and it allows me to now offer a professional service to clients that most marketers can't even hope to match.

Investing money in yourself and your business can really ramp thing up to the next level and increase your profits and marketing capabilities.

I am seriously looking for some work at home opportunities that are legitimate, not those pay to click, or businesses that no one really wants to get involved with. I have a family of five and want to stay home with my family versus working in the corporate world. I have recently become involved with LaBella Baskets, which is a legitimate company, and am working hard to become successful. I was just curious if anyone out there is actually successful with their work at home opportunity.

[/SIZE][/B]In every bloggers life comes a special day - the day they first launch a new blog. Now unless you went out and purchased someone else's blog chances are your blog launched with only one very loyal reader - you. Maybe a few days later you received a few hits when you told your sister, father, girlfriend and best friend about your new blog but that's about as far you went when it comes to finding readers.Here are the top 10 techniques new bloggers can use to find readers.

These are tips specifically for new bloggers, those people who have next-to-no audience at the moment and want to get the ball rolling.

It helps if you work on this list from top to bottom as each technique builds on the previous step to help you create momentum. Eventually once you establish enough momentum you gain what is called "traction", which is a large enough audience base (about 500 readers a day is good) that you no longer have to work too hard on finding new readers. Instead your current loyal readers do the work for you through word of mouth.Top 10 Tips

10. Write at least five major "pillar" articles. A pillar article is usually a tutorial style article aimed to teach your audience something. Generally they are longer than 500 words and have lots of very practical tips or advice. This article you are currently reading could be considered a pillar article since it is very practical and a good "how-to" lesson. This style of article has long term appeal, stays current (it isn't news or time dependent) and offers real value and insight. The more pillars you have on your blog the better.

9. Write one new blog post per day minimum. Not every post has to be a pillar, but you should work on getting those five pillars done at the same time as you keep your blog fresh with a daily news or short article style post. The important thing here is to demonstrate to first time visitors that your blog is updated all the time so they feel that if they come back tomorrow they will likely find something new. This causes them to bookmark your site or subscribe to your blog feed.

You don't have to produce one post per day all the time but it is important you do when your blog is brand new. Once you get traction you still need to keep the fresh content coming but your loyal audience will be more forgiving if you slow down to a few per week instead. The first few months are critical so the more content you can produce at this time the better.

8. Use a proper domain name. If you are serious about blogging be serious about what you call your blog. In order for people to easily spread the word about your blog you need an easily rememberable domain name. People often talk about blogs they like when they are speaking to friends in the real world (that's the offline world, you remember that place right?) so you need to make it easy for them to spread the word and pass on your URL. Try and get a .com if you can and focus on small easy to remember domains rather than worry about having the correct keywords (of course if you can get great keywords and easy to remember then you've done a good job!).

7. Start commenting on other blogs. Once you have your pillar articles and your daily fresh smaller articles your blog is ready to be exposed to the world. One of the best ways to find the right type of reader for your blog is to comment on other people's blogs. You should aim to comment on blogs focused on a similar niche topic to yours since the readers there will be more likely to be interested in your blog.

Most blog commenting systems allow you to have your name/title linked to your blog when you leave a comment. This is how people find your blog. If you are a prolific commentor and always have something valuable to say then people will be interested to read more of your work and hence click through to visit your blog.

6. Trackback and link to other blogs in your blog posts. A trackback is sort of like a blog conversation. When you write a new article to your blog and it links or references another blogger's article you can do a trackback to their entry. What this does is leave a truncated summary of your blog post on their blog entry - it's sort of like your blog telling someone else's blog that you wrote an article mentioning them. Trackbacks often appear like comments.

This is a good technique because like leaving comments a trackback leaves a link from another blog back to yours for readers to follow, but it also does something very important - it gets the attention of another blogger. The other blogger will come and read your post eager to see what you wrote about them. They may then become a loyal reader of yours or at least monitor you and if you are lucky some time down the road they may do a post linking to your blog bringing in more new readers.

5. Encourage comments on your own blog. One of the most powerful ways to convince someone to become a loyal reader is to show there are other loyal readers already following your work. If they see people commenting on your blog then they infer that your content must be good since you have readers so they should stick around and see what all the fuss is about. To encourage comments you can simply pose a question in a blog post. Be sure to always respond to comments as well so you can keep the conversation going.

4. Submit your latest pillar article to a blog carnival. A blog carnival is a post in a blog that summarizes a collection of articles from many different blogs on a specific topic. The idea is to collect some of the best content on a topic in a given week. Often many other blogs link back to a carnival host and as such the people that have articles featured in the carnival enjoy a spike in new readers.

3. Submit your blog to blogtopsites.com. To be honest this tip is not going to bring in a flood of new readers but it's so easy to do and only takes five minutes so it's worth the effort. Go to Blog Top Sites, find the appropriate category for your blog and submit it. You have to copy and paste a couple of lines of code on to your blog so you can rank and then sit back and watch the traffic come in. You will probably only get 1-10 incoming readers per day with this technique but over time it can build up as you climb the rankings. It all helps!

2. Submit your articles to EzineArticles.com. This is another tip that doesn't bring in hundreds of new visitors immediately (although it can if you keep doing it) but it's worthwhile because you simply leverage what you already have - your pillar articles. Once a week or so take one of your pillar articles and submit it to Ezine Articles. Your article then becomes available to other people who can republish your article on their website or in their newsletter.

How you benefit is through what is called your "Resource Box". You create your own resource box which is like a signature file where you include one to two sentences and link back to your website (or blog in this case). Anyone who publishes your article has to include your resource box so you get incoming links. If someone with a large newsletter publishes your article you can get a lot of new readers at once.

1. Write more pillar articles. Everything you do above will help you to find blog readers however all of the techniques I've listed only work when you have strong pillars in place. Without them if you do everything above you may bring in readers but they won't stay or bother to come back. Aim for one solid pillar article per week and by the end of the year you will have a database of over 50 fantastic feature articles that will work hard for you to bring in more and more readers. :cheers2:
