For anybody wishing to install Flatpress for their .edu domain, here's how:

You will need BitZipper (download the free 30-day trial) and FileZilla if you do not already have them.

Download flatpress-0.909-arioso.tar.bz2 from Browse FlatPress Files on SourceForge.net and unpack the .bz2 folder using BitZipper. You will now have a folder on your PC called Flatpress, containing 8 folders and 15 files.

Log in to the yourdomain.college.edu.pe server using Filezilla and the info already provided by Paul. On the right side (RHS) you will see an unnamed folder containing cgi-bin folder. Click on the unnamed folder so that cgi-bin is shown in the lower pane. Now drag and drop all 8 folders and 15 files from your PC (LHS) to the lower pane RHS. It will take a few minutes for these files to load. Right click on the fp-content folder and change the file attributes to 755 (they are probably set at 755 but check anyway).

Go to yourdomain.college.edu.pe and you will be taken to the admin set up page - just follow the on-screen instructions.

Here's all I can come up with: Index of /
Doc - looking at your Index of/ all I see is the cgi-bin. The Flatpress folders and files need to be loaded at this level and not within a Flatpress folder. Have you tried this?

This is a copy of what my flatpress installation looks like using Filezilla.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi,
Just gave my WinRAR Extractor a bash and it gives me a Flatpress Folder with the 8 sub folders and 15 files that you describe. I didn't want to have a 30 day trial if I could avoid it (I always seem then to leave the project till late on the very last day - it must be subconscious!).

I can't find a cgi-bin folder on my site but there must be one because brunging up the URL shows one.
I have a pub site (sounds good!) but can't put Flatpress in that one.
I'll try the folder that says nothing against it at all, it's all trial and error, I've only ftp'd a few times before but found Filezilla a doddle to use once I'd discovered the File Manager!

    Hi Derek - no problem

This thread will explain all to you. The thread is now closed but Paul may still be arranging the sub-domains...you will need to PM him.

    All the best - Keith
