Hi, I have a couple of questions on an area I would like to add to my new site. I have a niche picked out, I have used WordTracker and I know what I want to do with it. Now I am exploring all my Monetizing possibilities. I want to make a kind of resource site, but eventually I was considering adding a drop-shipping section. At least I think that is what I want to add. Is this a good thing to get into? I want to do a furniture site. I want to point people to good sales I find online, unique pieces, ect. What should I do or where should I look to get into drop-shipping? Where can I find out exactly how it works to see if it is something I want to do? If I wanted to use drop shipping as one of my possibilities, do you have any advice? If you have used it, has it worked for you, what are the pros and cons?

I haven't used dropped shippers, but I've heard quite a few horror stories of people getting cheated, so proceed with caution. I think one of the other problems is finding a product that is cheap enough that you can add your profit to it and still be competitive with others on the market.

I do know a lady who organized her own 'dropshipping' with a local furniture retailer in her area. They gave her a list of wholesale prices and let her take photos of the furniture. She listed them on her site and took orders and then phoned them in to the company for them to dropship the furniture. If my memory serves me correctly it was some type of quality amish furniture.

Anyway, that's just an idea. Depending on what is available in your area you may be able to come up with a similar option.

Whatever you decide, do be careful and be sure the company is legit. You don't want to take people's money and then have them coming back to you because they never received the items or they were junk, etc.

Thank you Angie! I was afraid there may be problems, that is why I waned to ask first! It isn't an option I have to have, I was just considering it and wanted to know what to look for! Thanks so much for replying. I have seen several websites with drop-shipping but never really knew how they worked and if they were profitable. I think I may just stick to being an affiliate for now

They come highly recommended and take some of the risk out of dropshipping by vetting the companies in their directory for you. Their newsletter also offers plenty of tips on this aspect of internet marketing.
