Have been a bit distracted lately with personal issues. How's everyone doing with the present situation with the economy? Hurting business? No change? Curious as to how everyone is faring in this crazy time in the economy.

It's been tough to get through this economic crisis as my dad lost his job in the midst. and I know others out there are also in hope of us getting through. I am also worried about business yet I just started my website, so I won't stop now

I see big changes in the economy here in Ireland, but haven't felt it via my online business yet - 3 commission checks arrived in the last week, woohoo!

But a close relative just let 150 people go from his business. And some 'household name' business are really struggling.

We are being advised to buy, buy, buy to support the economy, which I think is a bit condescending. The government here is already in trouble with the EU for borrowing nearly twice what they are allowed to, just to cover their spending. Next year will be worse for us.

I would suggest looking to markets that generally do not struggle in a recession if you are planning any new websites at the moment. Regardless of how bad things get, there are certain things that people will always need. Go look there.

Not to mention the fact that there will be a whole bunch of newly unemployed wondering how the heck they are going to make some extra money! ... I'm just trying to see the opportunities here.
