Article submission service or DIY? 2008/04/03 08:50

I just got Honest Riches about a week and a half ago. I'm learning and moving along fairly steadily, but I'm learning that backlinks are one of the most important things needed to get a high search position. I found an article submission service that charges $14 per 100 sites your article is submitted to. They send to over 800 sites.
Is this a good idea, or is it better to manually check and submit to these services yourself? I can see how it would save a ton of time, but do they really deliver the goods?

I don't really believe in those sites that promise to submit your site to hundreds or thousands of sites. Usually these sites are just junk sites without any real substance or quality.
Even if these sites are of value, be careful of Google penalizing your site because of the sudden spike of sites linking to your site in a very short period of time. Google may view this as link spamming.

I agree. It's better to manually submit to fewer good quality article sites or directories than to take the chance that you are being submitted to link farms.
If you are submitting articles, you don't want the exact same article submitted to dozens of sites, anyway. You need to make some moderate changes so you aren't submitting duplicate content all over.
If you just add a few links a day/week, it doesn't take that long, and it is a more natural progression that is more beneficial.
Blessings, Angie
