Question on backlinking in articles 2007/08/25 14:38
Hi,

I have a question about creating backlinks in articles that I submit to article directories.

Does how I present my link in my resource box effect whether I get backlinked?

Like for example, if I had a website called www.jukey.com, is it better to have

<a href="www.jukey.com"> www.jukey.com </a>

or

<a href="www.jukey.com"> online marketing strategies </a>

I wasn't sure if by having option 2, I'm not getting my back links because the name of the site isn't on display!

Thanks in advance

No, you don't need the name of the site to be displayed. As a matter of fact that is exactly the way you should be linking back to your site.

Always try and use either your main targeted or secondary targeted keywords when backlinking whenever possible. Also, make sure that when you are backlinking to switch up your anchor text every so often.

Don't always use the exact targeted word or phrase. Mix it up a bit but make sure that they are still included.

i.e. tips to help you with online marketing strategies etc.

You want this to appear as a natural linking process in the eyes of the engines. Human beings and other sites wouldn't always be linking to your site or your pages using the same anchor text and neither should you!

Don't forget to go deep with your links. Articles are the perfect thing to be using to be linking to all of the pages in your site to help boost your rankings, and lending strength to the overall theme of your site, and for boosting your homepage up the ladder.

Cheers

I agree with Davin on using the keywords in the anchor text and switching them but:

Always use 2 links in your signature, one the way Davin explains and one without any html, just http:// w w w yourlink . com

This is important because some article directories out there don't allow html in the signature line and if you only have a html link, then you will end up with no link at all.

You won't even notice that this happens if you are using an article submission software like the DigiXMAS tool or if you don't pre-view your articles.
