I am busily working to make my site work and I have a question: When a person pays for my book, (paypal collects the money) How do I send them an instant email with their download link?

I never thought about it before, because I always used an affiliate link and I guess that part took care of itself.

I'm soooo confused...please help!

Well if your using Paypal as your payment processor Ali, you can create a custom Thankyou page. Once they are finished paying through Paypal they will be directed to your Custom Thankyou page with the download link on it.

There is a place in the setup of a Paypal button and process to enter this url. It's under more options or some heading like that when you create your button.

Also, it is very important when you create your thankyou page that you have a title for your page that people wouldn't ever be able to guess. Something like alivuvstowrite.com whatever your domain is, so, let's say it's that,

alivuvstowrite.com/thankyou984735987398453.html if you get what I'm saying. If it's too easy for people to figure out then you could be losing sales because people could go to your thankyou page and be downloading before paying.

You could then have something on your download page that says.

If you have trouble with your download send an email to blah, blah, blah which would be attached to an auroresponder that you have setup so that when it's emailed your message would have your download link in the email.

One word of caution!

If you are planning on making a lot of sales, get in touch with Paypal and let them know of your campaign. If there are lots of funds all of sudden going into your account they sometimes see this as suspicious behavoir and can sieze your Paypal account. This has happened to many marketers.

Let them know of your plans so this doesn't happen to you.
You may also consider accepting E-gold or something like that as it is far less of a headache sometimes compared to what Paypal can do! I do use Paypal and will probably continue as long as I don't have problems but I know people that have had problems like I was describing. Let Paypal know ok!

Thank you, Davin. I will notify Paypal and those things are so good to know in advance. You also answered a question that I have been thinking about on and off for a while now, and that was 'why do some people not like paypal?' - This would explain it.
