JOOMLA & pdf Help me decide ?? 2007/05/26 21:09
Hi!

I am ready to convert my book to pdf! Yea! Now I need to decide which pdf creator to use. In Honest Riches, Holly recommends Adobe (I think it's too expensive for me) or Cute pdf pro.

Remember, I must be able to have links working. However, since I am using Joomla, I don't know whether I should use something else.

Any clues?

Better stick with Adobe for best market penetration for most web users. I have heard too many horror stories at Warriors with members messing around for weeks on end, trying to get it done cheaper elsewhere, and bleeding ever so slowly, in the woebegotten process....not a pretty sight.

Actually, there are a couple free sites that you can convert your document into .pdf format.

You just browse your computer for the file and click convert, and some will either email you your converted file, and others will just post a link for you to download the converted file from.

I'd look into these before I went and spent any money, especially if you have written the eBook in word format (.doc). Pretty simple to convert these for free into .pdf.

Here is a link to one such site:

I use these guys to update coverletters, resumes and business plans with.

Hope this helps.

Try checking out versiontracker.com for a pdf converter. Search for "pdf". They have a complete lists of software for Mac, Windows and Palm OS. That's where I go to whenever I need freeware/shareware software for my mac.

It sounds like you want a pdf program that will keep your links intact. I don't know if the free pdf programs have that functionality. You'd need to check it out.

I do know that adobe offers online PDF creation. I think you get a few free or pay a little to try it out. I've done that before.

Some free PDF software is very limited in page sizes. That's why I used the on-line version of Adobe's Acorbat.
