Search Engine Friendly Joomla 2007/08/28 18:47
Hey folks,

Haven't post for a while. Been busy learning adwords/adsense stuff.

Here's a nice plugin for people who want to make their Joomla URL search friendly. Search do take into account the URLs that you use in their ranking.

Take for instant, this forums URL:

http://www.honestworkfromhomesuccess.com/component/option,com_fireboard/Itemid,133/func,post/ do,reply/catid,19/

Ok... now I want you to optimize your website for that?

It would be easier if it was:

http://www.honestworkfromhomesuccess.com/make-money-online-forum.html

That will catch the search engine spiders better.

Here's an easy to make your Joomla CMS SEF (Search Engine Friendly):

http://www.artio.cz/en/joomla-extensions/artio-joomsef

It's absolutely fantastic and robust. It will transform your URL to more human legible URLs instead of the dreaded /components/option....catidXXXX

Here's one of my site in progress with the Artio SEF component. It will make it easier to reference as well as optimize your site.

Hope that helps.

Hi and thank you for the info! I recommend ARTIO to others too - but not if you have a large forum. That really slows down the site at times - or did for me anyway. I've tried every single SEF URL software, component and plugin for joomla (specifically for the forum with joomlaboard or fireboard) and none worked properly. It either messed up some urls, created duplicates, slowed the site immensely or caused errors on the site. With sites that do not have forums, it works beautifully. For me, it didnt work out with this site - neither did 404shef, sef advanced or artio.
