Hi Holly, Lisa Jo here. Thank God you two are all right. My maternal instincts rose immediately upon reading that nightmare.
I agree with what the others said about dogs. Not just one, though. At least two. One to keep in the room with Josh and one to roam the house. I have found that German Shepherds are an excellent choice for a grown trained guard dog. They are also great with kids and extremely smart. I have had several. I'd recommend getting a puppy to grow up with Josh as well. That will be a bond that cannot be broken. I speak from experience on that one. I don't really recommend adopting a dog at this point. Too many unkowns. Was it raised in the pound? If so, then it had to fight for it's food. This could be a potentially bad situation for Josh if he goes around the dog during feeding time. Was it abused? Too many unknowns like I said and it takes time to bond. You need something now.
As far as signs in the yard regarding warnings of dogs on premises - you may want to check on that. Signs say that you are taking on the Liability if that dog harms an intruder. If you have a dog however and someone just pops in and frightens it so-to-speak, then you are not liable. At least that is the case in most states in the US.
You can also put up motion detector lights and cameras outside your home placed strategically for your doors and windows. They have camera set-ups that you can monitor from your laptop even when you are on vacation. They are not too costly. You might end up waking up the neighbors. Myself, I say better them than you. You are the one that is not safe at this point. Besides, that neighbor who just looked and did nothing will get that light in his face and it will serve him right for not giving assistance.
I also have a juice that I drink myself for several health issues. It works by detoxifying your system. It has done wonders for me, my mother and several other people that I know. I'm surprised you haven't heard of it or perhaps you have. The main ingredient is the pericarp of the mangosteen fruit. I understand it grows in Thailand. The juice of my choice is called Thai-go. A friend of mine just set up an account for me to order some. So new I haven't gotten the info yet as it is going to my mom's house. I am in the 18-wheeler, remember? lol. I have had severe gastrointestinal problems, high blood pressure, fibroid tumors and clinical depression. It TRULY helped in every situation. I hadn't been able to drink carbonated anything for more than 10 years. After a couple of months on the juice - lol. I had a Dr. Pepper for the first time. It was soooooo good and I did not have an ounce of pain afterwards. The fibroid tumors shrank, I lost a whole bra-size. My high blood pressure stabilised and I was able to get off my medication. I also no longer take medication for depression. I prayed for the Lord to send me something that would fix all my needs, knowing it would take a miracle. He answered. I got it with the Thai-go. I have the option to sell it, but I wasn't sure about that. I just let others who have problems know what it has done for me. It also helped my mom who has sciatic nerve pain, diabetes, high blood pressure and fibroids as well. I could tell you more, but it would take forever. Look it up and see for yourself. I am sure of one thing, it's range of health benefits is tremendous. I can't sing it's praises enough. I did quite a bit of research on it and it is just like you - it does what it says it will do, no hype-just honesty, and it will help you no matter what your problem. I trust it completely. It's also all natural. I hate prescription drugs. Those side effects were worse than the problems I started out with. No more, though. This stuff is awesome.
Please keep in contact. I've grown quite attached to you, I consider you one of my extended family and worry about you being a single mom and Josh being so young. I was a single mom for about 10 years myself. I raised two girls. Then 10 and 5. Now my baby is almost 18. I've learned so much and will gladly share my knowledge with you so feel free to email me personally anytime. I mean it from the heart.
Well, I've talked your ear off enough. My protective instincts have been somewhat satiated by giving you this information. You have given me sooo much. I am happy to be able to give something back. I intend to continue doing so. I just wish that I could do more.
Love you and God Bless Lisa Jo
P.S. Sorry this post is so long.
