I really don't know anything about advert but usually those sites run ads on your website. I signed up for the free website with Holly through Cheekyo. She'll set you up with a free website if you buy Bluehost for a year through her site. I couldn't be happier. Here's my site she set up:

Well Angie, to answer your question, I'm making money but I'm not doing as well as I'd like. I'm struggling to get traffic to my site. As it turns out, SEO is not one of my strong points.

I love the site and how it works (I can do whatever I want with it) but I am not known for my patience. and there is a lot to learn when it comes to SEO.

I'm actually thinking of doing what you have done in getting a sitebuildit site going while I continue to learn the ropes. I'm determined to figure it out, I'm just a little slower than most!

I read on one of the posts where you are geting 1000 visitors a day to you site. That's awesome!

Thanks for that! To be honest, I don't get 1000 visitors EVERY day - wishful thinking. I only hit over 1000 a couple of times before Christmas. I guess there were a lot of people looking for chocolate candy recipes and chocolate gifts. Christmas Day and the 2 weeks following really saw a drop in my traffic, but it has started picking back up again. Whew!

I think you would be wise in trying SiteBuildIt. It really simplifies everything. I think you will find that once you build an SBI site the SEO and all that will just "click" for you. You can then "adjust" your pipeline site accordingly.

Don't worry. I doubt you are "slower than most." It takes the vast majority of us a good while to get the ball rolling. Just keep at it and you will too.

I decided to get the site build it and I've been spending the last couple of hours watching videos and just trying to get the feel for it. I think I'm going to like it. You're right it really does seem to simplify things!
