Squidoo vs HubPages 2008/09/08 01:18

In Holly's book she writes of both of the Web 2.0 sites: Squidoo and HubPages. On this forum it seems that Squidoo is the preferred site.
Any reason, from your expereince, to choose one over the other?
Thanks for your input! Until next time... Annie

I have used squidoo more, so I'm more comfortable with it. I had a suspicion, though, and did some research. From what I can tell, it's easier to get dofollow links from squidoo than hubpages. Both start as nofollow, and can change as you build. So squidoo is more powerful for backlinks, at least initially. Hope that helps, Kevin

Well, if you really want to benefit you can use both of them. It's also a very good idea to bookmark and submit the RSS feeds from your Squidoo lens and Hubpages if you can. This helps give your lens and hubs a little extra link juice as well, which will help out your blog or website in which you are linking to.
Don't forget you can also get into Squidoo, and do a search by typing in a "keyword" topic that you are trying to get more juice for. By finding related lenses, you can get some good backlinks and traffic by commenting on related lenses.
Cheers Davin

Thanks ya'll, good information. I think it will be interesting to have accounts on both Squidoo and HubPages. When I do, I'll report back with the comparisons, for I think it will be helpful info. Now, don't hold your breath on how soon this happens...still plugging along one day at a time!
