I have read and heard of different optimizing methods
Some say to have your keyword typed out multiple times will give better SEO results
Yet I also heard that too many times will actually cancel it out and the spiders would give me a poor ranking for excessive use of keywords.
I am having trouble getting my website up in google rankings

When I'm writing an article for my webpage or to submit to directories, I find it is more efficient to write for the readers instead of the spiders. If you know your topic, writing for the readers will give you a decent keyword density, and you will naturally work in LSI.

I also put my keywords in the title and tags of the site, as well as in the names of images and as alternate text for images.

Besides on site optimization, what kinds of promotion have you done for your site? How long have you been at it?

If you can give a run down of your strategy, we may be able to offer some tips.
