Hi,

I am currently submitting my blog to the list of directories Holly listed in her book.

Question is, a big number of these directories request that I place a link back to them on the URL I submitted to them. That will be a problem, as I think this will definitely mess things up.

Any advice on how this should be done?

And also, some of these directories require you to pay for a listing. Do you guys do that too?

When I submit my sites, I normally do the Free no reciprocal link.

Unless you want to create a page on your site with nothing but links.

Some of the directories want there link on your main page which I am unwilling to do.

Thanks for the input. I guess I just skip those which requires you to have links back to your main page or have to pay to get listed.

Actually I'm moving quite slowly, a little frustrated in my progress but I guess it's because I have not really find a good niche to compete in yet.

I have two different website domains and I only use the free Directories so far. I never thought it was too good an idea to work pretty hard getting traffic to these sites, and then have a zillion links there to greet them distracting the visitor from your main website message. Say they click away after a few seconds from you on one of those many links....you have egg all over your face and they never even had time to check out your main offer....not the best marketing scenario!
