Will a domain you forward show up in google? 2007/07/02 22:40
If you purchase a domain and forward it to an affiliate site, can you optimize it to show up in Google or will I have to promote it via Google Adwords, etc to get traffic?

If it's a stupid question I'm sorry.. just trying to learn

In my opinion, it does.

You can lookup at google, keyin the text - powertools for entrepreneurs+sunnytung

You'll my site which is a redirect showing up > http://www.sunnytung.com/powertools

However though it shows up in google, but at which page number, for your choice of keyword/s? (Though my link shows up, it's not even listed in the first 3 pages, if you use the keyword "powertools"!)

I would advice you to start creating a good niche site which the search engines love rather than just setting up a redirect. There's a great guide I found called "Rapid Niche" resource which combines your SEO, Blogging and Niche Theme web building all in one.

An example of the site can be found at http://newvegetarianlifestyle.com (this site was indexed by google within 3 days). If you want to know further, send me a message and I'll forward the resource to you.

Yes, that is true. Your cloaked link will show up in google but never at the first pages because of duplicate content.

Building your very own website is the best choice but you can also create a Squidoo page to show up in google or you can write articles and submit them to the big article directories. You can also combine these with your own website so that you get massive backlinks and a better position in google.
