Conversion rates: what's good? 2007/01/21 23:22

Here's a total noob question for you guys:
A lot of products on clickbank will say things like "very high conversion rate," or "highest converting product of it's type," but I haven't seen any actual numbers. My question is what is considered a good conversion rate? 10%? 1%? .01%? If I get 50 clicks on an ad and no conversions, is it time to reconsider my advertising strategy or what products I'm promoting?

A good conversion is 1:50, but most products won't convert at that rate, and many don't even convert at 1:100. I think, though, that most people who say that their products convert at 1:25 or something like that are probably lying.
