Confessions Of A Looser 2007/08/06 20:45
No I haven't just come from the Rich Jerks site but to be honest I feel like a looser.

Holly's book is quite good, and I've read the Rich Jerks (didn't buy ) and read a lot about affiliate marketing on various Forums but I have yet to make a single clickbank sale!!

I've decided, as it were, to start all over again. I've been studying Holly's book again and concentrating on the bits to do with affiliate marketing. There are two questions I ask myself: 1 How to decide which affiliate program to promote: my thinking is to stick with Holly's book and two other products. For the present I think it best to stick with clickbank and 2. I'm wondering if I should use an adwords campaign to drive traffic to my site.

I have a number of websites up and running (my most popular one has to do with babies) and basically adsense revenue is keeping them alive but I'm wondering if I go down the road of adwords would it be better to direct traffic direct to the promoters sales page or to a landing page on my own site? I'd appreciate opinions.

I'm sure I could have picked up the vast majority of what Holly has to say in her e-book on the web, by visiting various forms etc but that would have taken forever. Buy a book like Holly's and someone else has done the research for you. That's actually what encouraged me to buy the e-book in the first place.

A final question before I log of for now. What adwords e-book would members recommend; and why?

Hopefully this 'confession' will help others to admit they are also having difficulties in making sales and hopefully we can all earn and learn from answers.

Feel free to contact me at kevin at abcwritersnetwork dot co dot uk if you want to speak personally.

It is easy to get discouraged if you have not made any money in internet marketing after a few months - or even a year. If you are in this boat, here is something you need to consider:

Many people who attend college will be there for 4-5 years before they graduate with $40,000 - $50,000 in student loan debt, and some of these people can't get a "real" job when they graduate.

Most people who get into affiliate marketing spend somewhere between $100 to $1,000 on ebooks, web hosting and Adwords. Some of these affiliate marketers make it while others don't.

The point is that if you spend $1,000 on affiliate marketing and "finally" start to make sales and earn a descent living after two years, you will "make it" twice as fast as the average college grad, while spending only about 2.5% what they would over a 4 year period - and as an affiliate marketer, you can earn 10 times as much.

I'm not yet at the point to where I'm earning a full time income online, but my internet marketing education has paid for itself and has gotten me a much higher ROI than my college education...and I should mention that I quit IM twice and didn't make any sales until about 9 months after I initially got started.

So...while it is frustrating when you aren't making sales, don't quit until you have given it at least 4 years without a sale.

BTW, if you are looking to GET A GRIP on Adwords, I highly suggest joining Wealthy Affiliate - its not an ebook, but an internet marketing university, complete with tutorials, tools, and one on one coaching from two Adwords experts, Carson and Kyle.

Very well put Getagrip. I did the college trip, had the debt got the J.O.B., etc. Internet marketing takes time, but it's a heck of a lot cheaper and a lot more fun than college.
