I am learning to know about affiliate marketing, one thing I noticed many affiliates give free Ebook, if its free how they make money, how it helps in building the business.

There's a couple of benefits for doing that.


1. They get people to their site, where they may offer other products or services.
2. They spam the e-book with more affiliate links (hoping somebody will click a few and buy something).

These are the two main reasons 'why' one offers free e-books and there may be other reasons.

Many of us offer free ebooks - the real difference between a spam ebook and a free ebook is a bit cloudy. The goal for any online business be it marketing or other products is to try and get quality customers that subscribe to your list and care about your information, products and services.

You can create a free ebook to get leads, sell additional products, and generally help people. I would call an ebook 'spam' if the author does not really care about the reader or the topic - the only goal is selling something and making money.

If the ebook is useful to you then I hope the author was writing it with you in mind and the information is true. Usually you can tell by how it is written. Good news is that the ebook was free and you didn't lose any money on it.
