My New Year "work" resolution 2006/11/08 20:51
My wife and I accomplished our goals the past few years and we both quit our jobs to work at home. We are now working online in a few niche markets, including selling niche products on Ebay, and we are able to spend time with our 2 (and maybe a third coming soon) children.

We have been successful....However, we want to have our income on autopilot...we may need to hire someone soon because answering emails, updating websites, writing articles, answering phone calls, updating blogs, etc. is just taking too much time.

2007 Resolution - Double the amount of money we made the past year and contimue doing that for the next 5 years. then I can retire and invest my money in an indexed mutual fund and have it accrue 10%/year for the rest of my life.

Wow! To retire at age 30...that would be something. But I kow...if you can picture yourself in that state, then it will happen...NO doubts about it!

My goal is also to try and help other's succeed in making money. I just wish I had more time for that. I have many friends and relatives that I would love to help. I would love to also help the people in this forum. I need TIME TIME TIME...or employees.

Sean,
I KNOW!!! The emails for me are the most time-consuming task (but also rewarding). I'm happy that you and your wife are doing well and able to stay home. That is awesome!!! I think full autopilot income requires a great affiliate site that is pulling in a big profit. You WILL be successful and you WILL retire at 30! How many years does that give you???

I'm 25.5 now. So that gives me another 4.5 years.
P.S. I enjoyed reading your Then and Now section.

That is really, I mean really great! I am sure you will reach your goals! I am glad that you have shared that you are full time, at home and making it...that's what we want too.

Hi Sean,
That's fantastic - sounds like you're right on course. It's great to hear of people in the real world doing this for a living successfully, and helps to prove that it can in fact be done.

Now in my case, I'm hoping to retire by age 40. The thing is, I'm now 42...but you know...I remain positive.

Well, in my case, I am 29 so 30 is right around the corner for me(in March). I am hoping to make enough to retire on too well before 40 so that I can have plenty of years to enjoy my hobbies. I don't have a family, but being single isnt all bad either.
