That sounds great! Asia's looking better all the time.

As for me, I'm not moving there, but I've been pretty fascinated with Japanese culture, especially martial arts philosophy (versus actual martial arts).

I do plan to sell in Asia, however, with products that are priced right for a global marketplace. And I plan to do business with people in Asia, possibly reselling wholesale items which are much cheaper to produce overseas, than here in the USA.

Back again! This time writing from China!

I've been here 21 days now, and only last night was I able to post on this forum - usually I can't even read it, as the internet has been almost unusable into and out of China since the Taiwan earthquakes in December... Not good timing for starting Internet Marketing! Thankfully pages seem to load now and I will soon make a start. First, we need to move in to our own place as we're currently staying with my partners relatives.

The weather here ranges between -5C and -11C most days (getting colder in the evenings). Sounds unbelievably cold, but it's a different less-windy and crisper sort of cold than Winter days in England... We go by car to places mostly, and only notice the cold if we're stood out waiting for a lift for a few minutes!

My language skills have increased a bit... I can say some simple sentences, mainly 'I like..., I don't like, He likes...', and say 'where is the toilet' and food and clothing names! Still a long way to go but at least my partner is pretty much fluent, although a little bit rusty when it comes to very specific terms and reading/writing.

The food in China I knew would be different to Chinese takeaways back in England, but I wasn't prepared for QUITE how different... the food has been my main source of culture shock! Not being able to have cereal or toast for breakfast ever, and not being able to make a simple sandwich (no butter, bread tastes sweet if you do manage to buy a sliced loaf) are taking some getting used to! Oh, and kitchens don't have ovens here - never knew that. Meals are mostly very healthy and fresh, but I'm avoiding tasty dishes like chicken heads - don't think I can bring myself to try those!

Anyhow will try to post more regularly from now on and update this thread when there's any Internet Marketing progress... hopefully soon!

Juno44444 - if you've written a book about Mongolia, you should definately publish it!! Nothing to lose, and the hard work is done!!

Hope everyone is very well, and that your internet connections are treating you nicely. Also best of luck to the others who've moved to Asia.

Michelle

Hey Michelle, nice to see you back. Sounds like your having quite an interesting experience. Hmmm, not sure about that food thing there either. Sounds a little scary. Take care, hope to see you on again soon. Davin

Hey Michelle!!!!!!!
WOW congratulations on your big move and life change! Can't wait to visit you there! Josh and I have to leave Thailand every 90 days for visa renewals and I think we will definitely fly to China (its so closeby) on one of the visa renewal trips. Anyway, how is everything else going? If I can help in some way let me know..not sure how but I will try!!! Take care and hope you can post on here more.

What a worthy goal! I'm so glad I'm on board..

I'm Michelle's other half. See my introductory post at here

My Goals

  • Work Hard, Work Smarter

  • Create websites with real value to users

  • Enjoying the journey

I know it sounds too flowery, and not at all SMART, but they are nevertheless my goals.
