Is it of any use to build an opt-in list(capturing emails) if I was to create a website to promote affiliate products? If it is useful, what am I going to give them when they sign up, since I am just promoting products. Of cos, I will be building a website with lots of articles and some reviews about the products, not purely promotion.

So, how can I make use of the list? If not, should I just dont put the "name, email" sign up column?

Of course you'd want to build a list of your own even though you're selling affiliate products.

Think about it this way. If you don't build your list, then everytime you want to promote a new product, you have to start from scratch again promoting them. But imagine if you have a list of say, a few hundreds or thousands subscribers, all you need to do is send an email to them.

This is called leverage! Your hard work in building your list will pay off over the long term, so definitely you MUST build a list!
