Criticism Needed! 2007/01/17 13:05
Hi,

I have just completed a review article which I hope can direct visitors to my blog for a more comprehensive review, before they buy Ewen Chia's SAW. (Holly's book is next!! )

Can I have your views on the review article which I am going to submit to the article directories?

And the comprehensive review at my blog here?

Please download the review article here, the filename is SAW Review Art 1.txt

For both reviews, do they sound "fake" or is any of the sales pitch too obvious?

Is the comprehensive review at my blog too long?

Also, according to Holly's book, the articles should have keywords in them. However, the articles here are dealing with Internet Marketing, or Affiliate Marketing which are both saturated...

Any suggestions on what kind of keywords I should use, or will it actually matter at all?

Please be frank in your opinion. This is my first attempt at affiliate marketing, and I will need all the criticism and corrections I can get!

Thanks!

Hi KaiWei,

Being 'noob' as well, I can only give you my impressions without knowing in depth reasons. I hope that someday soon I will have some content such as your review written. Length, keywords, and content aside, I believe what you have there is what we are all are trying to achieve, the beginnings of something that works. As for the answers to your questions on the finer points of producing reviews and articles, I'll leave that to the more experienced members to provide.

Great start, one thing I would like to give you advice on is, to condense it some. It is very long, and I know you put a lot of work into it.

People on the Internet have a very short attention span, and the majority will not stick around long enough to read all of that.

Summarize it. put some large headers throughout for the people to scan the article.

And in the headers put the things that will inform and catch the readers eyes.

Hope this helps, you are doing great, the majority of the people usually never even make it to the point that you are at.

Once you get the review done exactly like you want it, then it will be time to promote your site.

As I have said before, you can have the best article on the planet, but if no one is reading it, it's all for nothing.

Good Luck

charles

Thanks Charles and Sam for the encouraging comments!

Just checked my clickbank account, got my first commission!
(You clicked on the buy link did you Charles/Sam? )

I think your right Charles...even my mom told me my comprehensive review is simply too long.

Back to work!

BTW, on having the keywords, will it be of any issue at all?

My first post above has the questions regarding the keyword issue.

Thanks!

Try and do some "sideways" thinking about keywords. I'm quite sure there are plenty that would be related to your review that would have less competition.

"Ewen Chia" for example doesn't have a lot of competition. you could pick up some traffic from that if you work it into your text more often.

While "affiliate marketing" has almost 90m competing pages in Google...

"affiliate marketing ebook" has only 1.4m competing pages, and...

"affiliate marketing ebook review" has only 1.2m competing pages.

Keep looking, you'll find several related keyphrases to target that have less competition. The great thing about the last two suggestions above is that they both contain the more hotly contested keyphrase "affiliate marketing".

Stick at it.

-Mark.

Whow...actually thought that anything with more than 1m site competing will be too hot.

Guess I am just being too worried.

Thanks for the advice Mark!

Let see if I can get myself a big "Hong Bao" (Red Packet) for my upcoming Chinese New Year in Feb!
