Cloaking a Link 2007/04/26 00:55
Hi,

Early days for me, but I have become a Holly affiliate.
I've read the e-book and the step by step approach seems great and is probably just what I need.

So I'm up to cloaking my affiliate link, which I was going to plaster on forums etc etc etc

With Holly's ProLinkCloaker, do you have to have it start http://prolinkcloaker.com ......
doesn't that give away that it's an affiliate link anyway ?

Also, the links that are generated are displayed ! (or is that just in the demo version ?)
What happens if someone accidentally deletes your link ?

Last one !!! I appeared to set up a link from the demo, which then worked and took me to Hollys site.

The main purpose of a link cloaker bsc is to protect yourself from affiliate commission theft. It's a real problem, especially with Clickbank links.

A good link cloaker such as Holly's not only provides protection from this, but it also gives a much more appealing and professional looking link to click.

Most people do know they are clicking affiliate links anyways, it's not so much to hide, lol!!! Unless you purchased Holly's Link Cloaker , then yes, you are only using a demo. If I'm not mistaken her cloaker would have to somehow be installed on your own hosting server.

One more thing, don't go running around just "plastering forums". Becoming a active participant in forums, such as asking for some help, offering some help, contributing to the conversations at hand is what forums are for.

Yes, we are allowed to have signatures with your offers to some of your products. And after perhaps you have built up some trust with your fellow forum mates, you can make some recommendations to the forum etc.

If you go around just plastering, as you put it, it won't take long for you to become know as a forum spammer, which is what we try and keep out of here, all the time!

Hope that helps you to understand a bit better.

Davin,

thanks for your comments.

I'll not be plastering forums. That was just an attempt at a joke.

My reputation and professionalism are what make me successful.
I'll not be spamming. I'll place my link in the correct places and subject to the rules of the forums - same as the rest of the guys on here.

One further point then. You mention that I may need a hosting server for Hollys software. I don't have a website as yet so nothing is being hosted. Do I need one ?

Thanks again
Bryan

hahahahah, lol, well glad to hear that Bryan.

Ummm, yeah, I'm quite sure that you need a hosting account for Holly's cloaker. These types of cloakers are generally redirect scripts. I tried Holly's demo, and I like it, the interface on it is much nicer than a lot of them.

I haven't really had much of a chance to talk to Holly much about her cloaker. I've been using a different one for a while and I guess it just hasn't come up in conversation recently.

You might be able to use her demo for a little while, I'm not so sure.

Davin

One more thing, you see, when you have her cloaker installed on your hosting server then it would have your domain name as the referring link. Such as you see mine all start with davinatorbiz.com. The reason her demo starts with prolinkcloaker etc. is because it is residing on her domain called that.

Hi Bryan and WELCOME!
Yes to use the prolinkcloaker software you would need a basic website that is hosted and has a control panel or file management area (most do - but I think godaddy might not). So if your domain is: www.learnaboutlife.com then all the links you cloak will look like: www.learnlife.com/visit/productname

So that's how it works! Let me know if you have any questions about it. take care

Hi Bryan!
I had Holly's link cloaker installed on my website and I use it for my website and my blog. You can see what it looks like from my blog address in my signiture. I LOVE IT! It makes all of my links look sooooo professional!
