Need help article question 2006/11/25 06:35
Hi All,

This is a double post...sorry...I put it in the introduce myself section first...amd then realized maybe I should put it here instead. Ok here's the post and thanks ahead for any input!!

Hi Everyone,

I'm Carolyn from NY, I've only posted once before but I hope everyone had a great holiday!

I have a question. I'm putting articles on my website at the moment. A few I've written myself, but I was also thinking of using some free articles.

For anyone who has borrowed a free article....maybe you can help me here.

Ok...I plan to use an article submission service to get my articles out there. Now, may I submit any of the borrowed articles when I do this? It's my understanding that I need to keep the original author's (author section intact). I would also need to add my own author section.

Essentially, I need to know...is this an unusual practice? Submitting an article about another person's article? Therefore having two author sections? Clueless here and would appreciate any input! Thanks so much!

Hello Mcpeewee,

I'll just get right to the point. The articles you wrote yourself are fine to submit to article sites. The articles written by others should only be used if you plan to add them to your site for content and keyword enrichment purposes. Of course you are correct about keeping the authors info. intact and the original source link always.

When it comes to submitting articles to article sites you should NEVER submit someone elses article. And definately not through an article submission tool. Remember they're yours to use for conent but they are not your original writing and you could get in trouble for doing that.

Many article submission sites will emphasize that articles must be your own original content.

The only time this is altered is if you get articles from places where they have uncopywrited articles free for the taking and free to alter at your leisure.

Also, remember not to blast too many articles out too fast because the search engine bots look at that too. If you can control the amount of submission try to spread the total amount over time in smaller submission quantities. The search engines look for natural growth over extremely huge over night growth.

Some of the article submission tools have these options because of this well known verification habit of the search bots.

Hope this helps.
Dan

Hi Dan,

Yes that was very helpful. Thanks so much.

I was thinking of submitting 5 articles for this first round...never done it before but the service I planned to use goes only as high as five. 3 would be my next highest option.

I figure as I grow I can trickle down and submit a few more here and there, gradually over time.

Does that sound like an appropriate plan of action? Kind of sounds like that's what you were saying too.

Thanks again!

Carolyn
