Mark's Marketing Launchpad is now LIVE!! 2008/10/02 11:53
Hi guys!

I haven't been around here for a long while... for reasons that would bore the pants off you. But I just noticed the Honest Marketing Movement site.

What a great idea. I've set up my blog over there if you want to drop by. There will be lots of great content coming soon. Please feel free to comment on it.

What's the plan with the site Davin? Will the other blogs or recent posts and stuff show up the front page of the site, or are all the blogs being kept separate? Some way of navigating between the various blogs would be essential if this is to become a community.

Also the Text Widget is stripping out any HTML code which means that I can't add an opt-in form to my sidebar. Is there a way to sort this out?

Plus, and this is going to be an issue for people, there's no contact link on the Marketing Movement site. So, how do people get help if they're having a problem with their blog? Honesty is one thing - dependability and approachability is another.

BTW Davin, if there's anything I can do to help, let me know.

Oh wow! Now that's a question?

The whole site and concept is so "new" Mark, Holly or myself haven't really discussed anything other than what you read over on her blog.

I just started to refer to the positive impact Holly and her book have had on people to "The Honesty Marketing Movement", because she really has impacted so many lives with their dreams and marketing practices. I mean, heck, Holly and her book were responsible for changing the whole direction of my life...when it comes right down to it.

I began to notice the viral effect it was having on people, and just began calling it that.

The whole "Wordpress MU" set up is entirely Holly's idea. I didn't even know she was going to do it until she announced it on her blog. I was quite surprised and happy about it to! Perhaps she meant it as a surprise...not sure.

I think after her "new book" is officially released and what not, perhaps she will want to discuss it a little further. She seems to think the idea I had about badges and what not would be a positive thing..so I guess we'll see.

Right now, I'm sure her main concern is getting her book ready to launch and what not..One thing at a time right?

I'm sure all the updates and concepts to the idea will be known in due time....keep watching for more information on it, is the best I can give you right now.

In time, I'm sure your concerns about "code" being stripped out and what not will be addressed to. I'm really not sure how the whole "Wordpress MU" set up works from inside an Admin panel as Holly would be seeing it..so I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Cheers
Davin

Thanks Davin.

I will just link to an opt-in page for the moment. But I think that the code stripping is a security feature of WPMU, so it may not be possible to 'fix' it. A marketing blog without the possibility of opt-in doesn't make a lot of sense, so I will continue to look for a way around the problem.

Congratulations Mark!

Glad you have a platform to introduce your Marketing Launchpad.
You are truly a great instructor and I look forward to learning more each day from you and your Launchpad. You have an ability to explain things in a way that the novice, like myself, can comprehend.

When you walk in with virtually no knowledge of the IM industry, an industry that can be intimidating with an overload of information, and then you're able to take small steps to make something happen, that says something about the source, namely you and Holly.

I have no doubt that "Mark's Marketing Launchpad" will be a huge success.
As soon as some of those small issues are worked out on the Honest Marketing Movement site, and I have a little more to contribute, I will be up there with you!

Thank's Karen. That's very kind of you.

God loves a guinea pig ... I mean a trier

I can't wait to see your first site up and running. Not long to go now. And you definitely ask the right questions, which is half the battle to understanding this business.

Blogging is a great way to test a market too, and so easy to get into.

Anybody else started a blog on Holly's Honest Marketing Movement site yet?

I'm interested to see how this Movement takes off and what others will do with their blogs.

I case you haven't checked out my Marketing Launchpad yet, I have freebies for subscribers!
