Web Tools 2008/08/20 23:43
Could anyone tell me if they have heard of or know anyhing about websitein5.com. Has all the templates etc.
They do offer an affiliate program as well, that's why I thought someone would have to know something. I just basically want to check that they are not a scam or something.

Regards
Michael

Hi Michael,

It looks like a pretty nice option, and I probably would have been tempted way back when. However, having learned what I know now, you need a lot more than an easy website builder. You need to be able to build a site the right way.

This company is charging $20 a month. For $5 a month more you could have SBI which is far superior as far as getting results is concerned. Maybe the template choices on this site are nicer looking (that's debatable, I suppose), but nice designs don't bring traffic.

Save yourself time and money and put your energies into building a site that gets free targeted traffic from the search engines. SBI will let you build a site 'easily' like this one is promising, but they will also teach you to build it right.

Yes, I'm biased, but I know it works from personal experience.

Blessings,
Angie

Hi Michael,

Angie's right. SBI! is excellent. I use it too and have been very happy with the results. If you don't like the templates that SBI! offers, AJ has some three column templates that are compatable with SBI! for $49. I personally just use SBI!'s templates but lots of people have raved about how much they like his templates.

SBI! also offers an affiliate program that you might be interested in that pays $75 per subscription plus renewals for life!. It is a two tier program so not only will you make money on your sales but on those of the people under you. You can read more about it here:

SBI! 5 pillar program

Thanks for that Kathy, the only thing about SBI they don't have an e-commerce option. Saying that was it your site that had links to ebay, love the idea, no need to have to control stock. How do you become an ebay affiliate.

The other thing, how do I setup the option to receive an email notification that I have received a reply to a message in this forum, is it just a matter of setting my email address into my profile.

Regards
Michael
