I just got up and around and had hoped to see a reply.
This just came back from paypal and I was wondeing if someone can translate for me. I don't know if my question was answered or not. I'm not sure. Perhaps the answer is so simple that I can't see it.

Here is the email; Dear Carl Sandel,

PayPal uses SSL encryption to encrypt data between PayPal and your browser.
While this is very secure, this does not prevent 3rd parties from spoofing
as a merchant, or untrustworthy buyers who would try to change payment
details.

With encrypted Website Payments Standard buttons, no one except for PayPal
can read payments sent through a Website Payments Standard button and
PayPal will know this payment only came from you, the merchant.

I would have thought that with 100+ views that someone would have commented on the SSL cert. and paypal question. Perhaps I have asked something that is not worded correctly or was just a stupid question. If so, I'm sorry

Am I asking this question on the wrong board?

The man at bluehost said about half way through our site construction, we would want to have a host so we could work on things a bit more like real time to make adjustments.

I think we are not far from that unless a more experienced poster knows differently. You all know that I am open to feedback.

So......any answers or comments about the SSL and paypal question from above?

I think some of the more knowledgeable members are pretty busy. I've only promoted affiliate links so far in my adventure so I have not done anything with ecommerce or SSL cert.. Davin might be the one to answer that question for you. Just send him a Private Message, I'm sure he'll get back to you soon.
