Squidoo Lens 2007/07/18 19:38
Hi I’d appreciate some advice from Squidoo users.

These past few weeks I’ve been messing around and experimenting with Squidoo. I’ve spent the past few days in particular trying to build a good lens, one that will hopefully drive traffic to my site and hopefully make me a little money.

My tactic is to have three frequently changing full length articles (modules) pointing to my website with an additional small taster at the bottom of each article – to read the taster in full you have to go to the website. The idea would be to change these about twice a week.

Today I started to visit complementary lens, leave a vote and post a comment then contact the lensmaster advise them what I’ve done and ask them to pay me a visit and if they like my lens do likewise.

Is there anything else I can do? As I said the main reason for having the lens is for traffic building purposes

If you point your browser in http://www.squidoo.com/childhood-leukemia/ I’d greatly appreciate you import and while you are there why not give my lens a vote. Sorry you can’t leave a comment unless you are a signed up Squidoo member.

Many thanks for any help or advice offered

Kevin.

I just voted as a Squidoo member. You can opt to let all visitors vote or comment if you like, did you know that? On a general health topic like this of such importance that might be the way to go here.

Hi Kevin,

I use Squidoo quite a bit to drive traffic to my sites. I find that you can get some great information and rankings by joining groups within Squidoo that relate to your topic and joining their forum called SquidU. I left a blurb on your lens.

I hope this helps,

Many thanks for your replies, votes and comments.

I'd like to ask another question. Currently I have three separate articles on the lens. It would be my intention to update the lens twice a week, changing one of the articles at each visit. I would plan to change the three tasters once a week.

But for an information lens like this http://www.squidoo.com/childhood-leukemia/ am I removing the articles to quickly even though they can be found on my website?

I think three articles hit the right balance, there is enough to wet the appetite but not enough to put the visitor off reading (note to self make the last article slightly smaller with maybe an image link back to site I'm promoting). Again I'd be interested in hearing the opinion of experienced Squidoo members on this issue.

Again many thanks for all input

Kevin

Here is an update:

I contacted this board, and a number of others I visit, and told them about my lens Childhood Leukemia and asked them to visit.

The lens has now jumped from nowhere into 937 overall and 65 in the Health & Medicine section, I really am delighted and for all who have voted for me thanks. It really would be great if I could make it into the top 500 overall and the top 5 in Health & Medicine so please keep on voting. Childhood Leukemia
