Hi Dee,
Welcome to the forum. Yes, there are a lot of people promoting make money at home programs.

It seemed a bit overdone to me and highly suspicious. I certainly don't think it is the best path to take based on all the people I've talked to who aren't succeeding with that route.
I think you will get a lot farther quicker by building a site about some other completely unrelated niche. My first site is all about chocolate candy.

I had no prior experience, but I think it turned out pretty good. I don't make a lot of money with it, though. It isn't a particularly profitable niche (more of a recipe site), but I making a few hundred dollars extra a month with it.
I decided to go with a more profitable niche the second time, so I chose auto insurance. I expect it will do much better in the long run but it is going to be a lot harder to bring in the free traffic because of the huge competition. I knew that going into it but decided to give it a try anyway.
If you have a hobby or interest that you already enjoy or know a lot about, you would be better off going with something like that. You need to write an awful lot of content pages to rank well in the search engines. It is a whole lot easier to do that when you are interested in your subject.

There is a free Affiliate course in my signature as well as a couple of free ebooks. I think they will help you in figuring out a niche, etc. Help yourself.
Hope that info. helps you a bit.
Happy New Year.
