Clustering products into niches, wise? 2007/12/19 17:12
I'd appreciate any nuggets and insights into the following issue. As far as my foray into Internet Marketing goes, I am at the point where ITS FULL THROTTLE OR FREE FALL!!

I'm trying to figure out this as far as NICHE PRODUCT/SERVICE goes.

Obviously ONE-OFF PRODUCTS OR SERVICES are less lucrative than say ONES where people keep COMING BACK FOR MORE.

A good example of the latter kind of SERVICE /PRODUCT is the PIANO LESSON PACKAGES that Jermaine Griggs vends. First they learn Gospel, then Jazz and then something else.

But my question is along these lines:

Say I have a product centered on providing access to an EXCLUSIVE EMPLOYEES ONLY WEBSITE of a well known FORTUNE 100 company that lets customers access SPECIAL EMPLOYEE PRICING for the very same product/service (that regular customers pay a premium for) - Is this a viable product on its own?

The HARD CASH SAVINGS are real!

It is a legitimate service that yields INSTANT HARD-CASH SAVINGS for customers otherwise purchasing the service through regular "retail outlets" alongside those who purchase an entirely different, competitor's product/service.

It is completely legitimate and the company has full knowledge of this.

Now should I build a SALES PAGE and E-BOOK DELIVERY FORMAT around this?

I have tried to find other folks who were in a similar situation as I; but no avail.

everyone's trying to sell an e-book that needs implementation time and in general where the product / service is not immediately realizable...if you get my train of thought..

Mine is as simple as using a DIRECTV coupon for $50 off the standard rate package for NFL Game Season.

I am not trying to bundle Universal Remote Controllers, Slingboxes, Bluray recorders and other such contiguous but not relevant items that might share the same niche cloud - namely home entertainment. Why? Simple because I cannot offer IMMEDIATE HARD CASH SAVINGS on those fronts.

With e-books and other such informational artifacts - the EXACT DOLLAR VALUE on the benefit/import received is VAGUE whereas buyers can put a clear number on how much they expect to save utilizing my product.

I realize this is both good and bad. Bad because there is no way to pack aspirational value into a WHAT-YOU-SEE-IS-WHAT-YOU-SAVE product!

Perhaps the seasoned IM-ers can chime in here : Is the money really tied to the prospect of KEEPING CUSTOMERS COMING BACK FOR MORE of the same or similar (in the above example "similar" would be the remotes, bluray recorders and such)?

Has anyone ever sold anything like this before - I dont have a clue - You tell me.

Does "HONEST RICHES" address this? What exactly is the scope of Honest Riches?
