Looking for a niche? 2006/11/28 23:28
Finding a niche is sometimes a challange but when I started researching I found there are many possibilites that can be utilized. Hear are some quick ideas. Some of us need to see it visually before we can start expanding on them.

General
  • Lasik surgery or contact lenses[li]
  • digital photo editing
  • stop living in fear
  • Keeping yourself motivated
  • troubleshooting and fixing common PC problems
  • Movies reviews

Huge market these days "Cosmetic Surgery"
    Breast implants and augmentation
  • Lip surgery or enhancement
  • cosmetic tattoos
  • chin alterations
  • female hair restoration

Musicians and singers etc.
    train your voice
  • piano in 7 steps
  • drums in 10 minutes a day
  • listen and learn harmonizing
  • music for the unborn. (playing classical music to unborn babies through your tummy)[li]

The significance of the note of "C". Let me explain. C is a very flexible letter. Some call $100 a "C" note lol for obvious reasons (Latin word for 100 starts with the letter). Casino slot machines are tuned to the note of "C" because they say it invokes happiness. Some snooping devices and phone taps can be nullified using a crisp "C" note. I'm sure you can find several others if we looked. It's not even a searched niche but you can see how you can take a simple subject and find so much about it to support a product or website.

The Stay At Home... ROBOT!?
With the growth of electronics, specifically robotics there are a number of very affodable and usefull robots for household use today why not have a blog or website on this subject promoting these items. Ever heard of the different models of "Roomba" vacuum cleaner? How about the Scooba, for liquids? No? Maybe the Dirt Dog, a shop vac robot? Well, all three of them are manufactured by IROBOT, www.IRobot.com ... Yes, I typed that right IROBOT, not (I,robot) the movie with Will Smith which can be found at www.irobotmovie.com LOL.

Bet you didn't know about the unmanned lawnmower, the RL850 and the RL1000, both cut the grass while you do other things or sit back and relax. They are fully operational too. You think people want to know about this... You bet they do. Imagine haveing a site that was geared toward lawnmowers to a popular company like sears but then you also offered an alternative just in case none of the mowers from sears tickled their fancy.

Heck If I had a lawn guess what I would buy. Just for the sheer entertainment value and bragging rights LMAO!

By the way you can find that here: http://www.friendlyrobotics.com/
They also have a home vacuum robot called "friendly vac"
http://www.friendlyrobotics.com/about/friendly_vac/

Just some ideas that i'm sure if you elaborate on will get some attention. If you pick any of these subjects and dig a little further into the possible smaller niches you may find a well searched, under-supplied sweet spot.

Hope this helps to spark ideas,
Dan

P.S. sorry about the Unordered List items, I'm used to Html and I'm still getting the hang of some the forum codes.

Hi EB,

I just joined this forum today, and I have been reading as much as I can while I'm at work. I wanted to thank you, also, for that advice on locating niches. I think I understand it. I do want to ask you what you meant by "digging a little deeper to find a well-searched undersupplied sweet spot." What are the clues and/or things to recognize to tell you when you actually have found such a thing?

Thanks!

Kenn
