article writing 2007/09/25 18:07
Hi, i,m thinking of now trying out article marketing. i,ve posted loads of ads but have,nt had any luck , i have made 2 referals but thats it , so next is writing articles.
Do i write loads of different articles on the same topic or loads of different articles. At the moment i am promoting six different products , do you think this is too many ?.
should i just stick to one product for now, any tips on what i could do next?. if i could just make one sale that would be good, just to prove to myself that i could do it. I have joined up to loads of different programmes( free) and keep getting hundreds of emails, but i think this is just confusing me and i dont know what to do next. i,m a bit muddled , can anyone help me please.
thanks julie.

Hi Julie, I know what you mean about all the emails. I put a hold on opting in on anything new for a few weeks. You can definitely go into information overload.

If you want to write articles check this site out and read through the articles of the people that are already submitting. It will give you an idea of the style of writing the site is interested in. This is also a thought for me in the future.

I signed up with them and they actually send out requests for articles that they would be interested in publishing. You can then pick and choose the topics you like.

For the problem with emails, I made specific mailboxes on my site to help compartmentalize what I sign up for. Example Survey1 @ yoursite.com, article1, affiliate1, etc. That has made it easier for me.

Good luck

Nick

Hi Julie,

Great question about the article writing.

One thing I can add, is that depending on what you are looking for, article writing can help.

Here's an example: my main site (for now) www.ronscomputerservice.net was getting very little in the way of traffic. Maybe 10-20 visits in August. I wasn't really promoting it.

I wrote a couple of articles dealing with computer problems, backing up, emails, things like that and submitted them to ezinearticles.com. As of today, my site has had almost 400 unique visitors and almost all of that I can track back to the articles that I have written and the link to my site in the resource box is clicked on.

I am readying a site in a different niche and have several articles written already and will be submitting them to ezine articles. The only difference will be that they will be directed to a squeeze page to capture an email address after receiving a free report/ebook.

That goes back to my original question; what are you trying to accomplish by writing articles? If it's driving traffic, depending on the quality of the article, you should have no problems. If it's capturing emails, make sure that you have a quality product that you can give away. If it's redirecting to an affiliate site, I would make sure that it is also a good product.

Hope this helps out.

Ron

Yeah, there are some "secrets" or my opinions that you should know when writing your articles:

1.) You have to provide valuable unique content.

2.) You have to write from an experts point of view.

3.) Feed the reader but don't give too much

4.) Write a great "about the author" signature line that promises that the reader will get the whole version on your website or through your newsletter to which he can optin on your website.

5.) You have to write a pulling headline, it must be unique for search engine traffic.

6.) Submit all your articles in one category to move up the ranks. In ezinearticles your articles move up in the categories the more you submit here.

7.) To get lots of traffic you have to write and submit lots of articles. Try 1 a day for 1 month and then analyze your results. You can't really make a decision earlier if it works or not.

Hope this helps a bit
