I post to about 20 article zines - I get the most traffic from ezinearticles and searchwarp. With searchwarp you can also submit, with their buttons handy on the control panel page, to reddit, delicious, digg, kerplop and a couple of other sites. Then I go to blogcarnival.com, and submit the relative blog post to several carnivals. They usually want a link posted on your blog, and I rotate these as there are so many, and they are good sites anyway. They don't mind a promo article as long as the content is good and the promo is light.

I also write an article and adapt it for a couple of squidoo lenses.

To get the best results you should have a different headline for each article directory. You should also change the first 4 or 5 sentences and the last 4 or 5 sentences of your article. That's only for getting the article listed in the search engines multiple times. If you are lazy, then you can simply submit your article as it is to many directories. It will be listed in each directory but only listed once or twice by the search engines (in most cases).

The submission happens semi-automated and includes hundreds of article directories. I am using this tool plus I hand-submit to ezinearticles and 3 other big ones that are not included in the software.

Yes, writing article helps you to promote markets. As for my concern promoting six products is not too many, but anyway its purely depends on individual capability. Try to write write quality article and spread it, it is better to write couple of quality article than the hundred's of copied article.
