With my crazy work schedule and my boyfriend up my butt, it took a while but I finally wrote a lens on Squidoo. This is my first effort at any of the methods in Holly's book!

I would really appreciate ANY feedback (bad or good but preferably constructive) on it.

Oh... I forgot to add that yesterday when I posted the lens, it was not ranked very well and today when I looked, it is now ranked 74,692. Is that good???

I haven't been here for a while but today I've decided to peek in and I saw your post. Great idea for a post. I have many female friends that love information like this. I believe you're on the right track using a subject that is popular but still is well in demand, but of course putting your opinions and twist to it.

I've commented and rated your site. I also stuck a link to one of my lenses. Be sure to comment on mine and at least leave a link to your page. So you can start to increase popularity. If you'd like check in my lenses link and leave one at my "Neti Pot" lense (www.squidoo.com/Nasal_Neti_Pot). It's ranked sensibly high and might bring your pages rank up a little faster. You can leave it on one or both, your choice.

***Just to let you know Holly, Dave and Craig are right. One of my lenses in particular has brought me another $25.85 since last month plus about $13 from my personal Amazon store link that's on there. From one free article. I like that idea LOL.***

If you occasionally do this at other peoples pages that you fell are worth commenting on it also helps because your backlinking your lenses url more and more, even Squidoo recommends it.

I've also taken the liberty to Ping your page out to the blogs through Pingomatic.com It's a good thing to do whenever you make a change or adjustment to your page.

Also there is a place called OnlyWire.com. Not sure if you know about it. But you sign up once to about 30 social bookmarking sites and every time you make a major update you bookmark but remember do not spam it by doing it more than about once or twice a day or they will remove you. Once you're signed up to all of them you just hit one button and voila! you've submitted the change to all the sites you signed up with all for free.

Then put the Onlywire link on your page so others that visit can click on it to bookmark you, raising you pages worth even more.

As time passes and you make adjustments I only have one suggestion for possible improvement on making it a little more magnetic.

Since we are all 95% visual online add some stock images of, maybe a girl applying make up or a fun pick of a someone getting her hair done, but in the middle of the process. Or 2 pics or so of ladies smiling... definitely smiling or goofy funny pics. Heck stick your own mug up there

Maybe even a YouTube vid of something you find that can help your subject but one that does not market another sites url so you don't yank people from your page.

In closing the information is useful. When you look at it if you decide to make text changes, that's up to you but those other things might make the page appear to be more attractive.

This stuff I had to take a little time to figure out but places like this forum help to speed these things up.

When i first started, i find it quite difficult to use.
After a few tries, i finally know how to create lens.

Very nice, Rita. Just keep updating your lens over time and it will grow in popularity. It is a great way to drive links and traffic to any of your sites.
