HELP please 2006/12/09 15:04
OK - I am in need of serious help here. The answer is probably so simple, but yet I can't get it right.
I am trying to post in classifieds such as Craig's List and Topix.net and others. I want to say CLICK HERE or something similar and have that lead to my page - I just can't make it work. I have done it in web pages. I can do it easily in MS Word. But when I try it in these classifieds - even here in this forum - I don't know what to do. This is really making me crazy!

Well... not exactly. I know the code but I don't know how to enable it. Say for example I write CLICK HERE in this forum.
Then I highlight it and right click... There is no command for 'create hyperlink' so how to I turn it into a link?

If I write: <a href="http://yoursite.com">CLICK HERE</a>

it shows exactly what I typed, not CLICK HERE... am I making any sense?

I see, I'm not sure if you can do that here. Now if I use the URL tab on the top of the post window I can turn a url into a link, but turning a word into a link, you might ask Holly about that one.

Ali,

I don't think it's possible to cloak a link in the way that you want to unfortunately. I think the only way to hide an affiliate link would be to buy a domain name and redirect to your affiliate page.

Hi Ali, if I can have your email address I can send you some code, this is code I was given, I'm no expert.

I'm learning (trying) about link cloaking.

Cheers
Michael
