Hello All,

I obviously am new to your communtiy. I have been reviewing Holly's materials and I'm a bit confused about something. If I sign up with bluehost do I still need Joomla? Bluehost does the hosting as well as the website, correct? Holly mentions free websites, is there such a thing as free hosting? If not is there anyone using bluehost that can tell me if its worth it or if there is a better recommendation? Sorry for the amount of questions but I am eager to get started as well as get it right.

Welcome to the forum. Don't feel badly about asking questions. That's what the forum is for. I can't tell you too much about the Bluehost/Joomla thing because I didn't use the free website from Holly.

I do know that the hosting isn't free. You'll have to pay for hosting if you are going to have your own site with a proper domain, etc. Some people start with a free blog or Squidoo or Hubpages instead of building their own hosted site. I think it is a matter of preference. You'll have to determine what is right for you.

Personally, after doing a bunch of research, I decided I wanted to build my own full fledged site, even though I had no idea how. I used a program called SiteBuildIt(SBI) to learn, build, and host my site. It turned out to be exactly what I needed. I have since gone on to build two more sites using the same program.

SBI isn't free, of course, but I think it is the best value for money when it comes to learning how to build a site the right way to get the rankings and the traffic over the long haul and building a genuine online business.

Scrounge around through the links in my signature and you can see the sites that I've built, get yourself some free books that will help you along the way, and take a bit of a tour of SBI to see what it is all about.

Someone else is bound to come along and answer that Joomla/Bluehost question for you. That will give you something to do in the meantime.
