Help with affiliate networks! 2006/10/31 20:17
hey guys, a newbie here. my situation is quite tricky so please bear with me. i can't join clickbank since i'm from the philippines and they still don't send checks this side of the world. i think (and i'm still not sure about this) i also can't join paydotcom because, although they recognize my country, paypal doesn't. i tried signing up with the paypal option unchecked but then an error message came back at me saying i have to put a check on it. okay, so it looks like forced paypal in paydotcom. that makes 0/2. tried checking out others like cj and sharealink... which brings me to my questions:

>> doesn't cj/sharealink allow promotion/marketing of their advertisers' products via direct emailing to friends/acquaintances? from the registration page, i gather that you NEED to have either a website or a formal newsletter of some sort. would they consider a blog a website? what about a blog within a social networking site (myspace, etc.)?

>> what other affiliate networks are reputable and quite popular but aren't complicated for international affiliates(in short, exactly like clickbank... but one that trusts the philippines enough to include it)?

holly, i really need your help here.

Hi CD,
Thanks for the question. I know it is an important one for you (and many others who email me about this as well). Basically, once you have a website idea and you know the keywords/theme of the site, then start the affiliate program hunting. You do not need to use an Affiliate Network - like the well-known CJ, Paydotcom.com, Clickbank, etc. because you can look directly on a company's website to see if they have an affiliate program (most do). Many, many affiliate programs (not necessarily networks) do allow people of many different countries to promote. So, check out individual company sites and look for a link that says, Partner, affiliate, etc. to see if you can sign up with them. It takes time and research but well worth it if you can find the right program that matches your site. Do you have a website already or an idea yet?

Hi Chito,

I think we're in the same boat, huh! I'm from the Philippines as well and looking for other affiliate programs available here.

Davin suggested Linkshare and what it did was ask where we would want payments to be sent. Cool, right I've checked the different products offered but the downside of it is, we need to have a website of our own (which they would check) before they approve.

For someone like me who doesn't have a website yet, that could be a challenge....

Well in time i hope we do find other affiliate programs offered here

Aileen

Hi slim49z,

It has been a long while since i last logged in here, sorry if i kept you waiting. I registered with some affiliate companies but the reality of not yet having my own website has always been a set back.

As of now, i'm going tru the nitty-gritty part of educating myself with web development and design. I like to learn stuff so let's see where this leads me =)

I still consider myself a newbie and i'm still trying to figure out how to put all these things together. Let me know how you've been doing these days with your intention to join affiliate marketing.

Some don't have to have your own website, the company doing the affiliate will provide you with one.As for countries not included, look for a worldwide affiliate opportunity.
