Kontera v Infolinks 2008/10/02 19:44
I've been trying an experiment lately with contextual ads. I've used both Kontera and Infolinks on my websites to see which one would generate more money. Infolinks won overwhelmingly! I've had days where I've made twice as much with Infolinks as my highest day with Kontera. (Even days where I've made almost as much as I have with Adsense).

Apparently they are a pretty new company. I've had to email them a couple of times and they have been quick to answer back so the customer service seems to be pretty good.

Anyway, they are free to sign up with. You just put the code on the bottom of the pages you want to have the ads to appear on and they will do the rest. It's a great way to add another monetization mix to your website.

Kathy,

Thanks for the information, I was wondering what those things were. Also yours do not appear to be working.

Well, that's strange. I just checked both sites with both IE7 and firefox and they seem to be working fine.

They take a few seconds to load.

Hi Kathy,

I've been following a thread on this topic in the SBI forums. It sounds like many people are quite happy with the increase in the advertising income, but the ads seem to be terribly unrelated to the topic of the page.

I went to a few sites that have Infolinks in place and wasn't at all impressed with the ads on offer. Do you feel this is going to hurt you at all in the long run?

I decided to wait a bit before considering adding them. They seem a bit 'tacky' to me for some reason.

I am glad to hear that you've had good results with it, though. I'm sure that is quite encouraging.

I'll be interested in hearing how you feel about it in 6 months time. Keep us updated.

I'll keep you updated. I' not having any problems. I'm seeing a steady increase in traffic on both of the sites. The ads are becoming a little more targeted as they get more and more advertisers.

Ok Kathy,

I have looked at your sites a few times to get an Idea of how to structure a site but Im sorry to report, Infolinks are not working with AOL. Aol is one of the widest used platforms out there still.

Just thought you might like to know, maybe you can contact infolinks and they can tell you why or how to fix it.
