HTML 2007/01/02 00:35
Hi everyone, this is a very basic and almost pointless question to ask, but when a site or forum says NO HTML that means that I cannot put affiliate links on their right? I want to make sure before I do anything.

Usually yes. but sometimes when they don't allow html in the article itself, they will allow it in the authors Bio.

make sure you read the article directories TOS to see what they allow and don't allow.

Most forums that I've been on, including this one, use something called bbCode. It's like HTML but much more limited. Some forums don't allow bbCode either. On most sites, if you use one of the formats that isn't allowed, you'll just post a messy message that you'll have to edit to make it look right.

Yup, like what avbbiz said, even though the forum might say no html, a lot of them use bbcode though.

You can put your affiliate links in your signature in most forums, but remember to read the rules of the forum first and foremost!
