YES I have had LOTS of problems with this. A way to minimize this is to not create "Catch-all" mail accounts with your domains/hosting. A "Catch-all" account will send any/all unrouted email with @domain.com to the email address you specify. So people have some type of spam scripts which generate email addresses and spam you at blank@domain.com, accounts@domain.com, etc. etc. I used to have big problems with this until I read an article which told me not to create "catch-all" accounts. Instead, create very specific email addresses associated with that domain and only forward those to your other email accounts. Hope that makes sense.

I used to do this with my old domain and the way I'd track who was selling my email address on was by using a different email address per signup.

For example I may have signed up for a Yahoo account under yahoosignup@mydomain.com and an SEO group under ThisSEOGroup@mydomain.com.

I'd still recieve all emails to me using Outlook Express BUT with the added option that if I started getting spam advertising viagra etc sent "to: ThisSEOGroup@mydomain.com" I'd know that the SEO group had sold-on my email address.

I'm confused did you say to NOT create a catch all email account or is that a typo? This happens even with the contact us for where your email isn't readily at hand? Thanks again

Yeah, I think this can be a problem with the email address being in the page somewhere.... Does your contact form require you to put the send to or send from email address (which would be one of your site email addresses) in a hidden input on the form? If so, this could be how they're getting it!
