I am new here and i am from Malaysia so i am facing the same problem like you but i have tried to registred with clickbank using one of singapore virtual office address and it works they event have a service to forwards mails to you so you can bank in the cheaque to your bank. I have write to clickbank wheather this is a legal way to do it and this is their reply to me:

I would suggest you cash or deposit the check with whatever local bank
will take the check.

I think most affiliates in the world will accept Japan. If I can do affiliate marketing in singapore, I am sure there will be no problem in japan. Because Japan is the most advanced country in Asia.
