Actually Carl, no if you have the full internet suite you don't need to have Spybot etc, as well. Kaspersky has built in Spyware detection and it also protects you continuously while you browse.

If you buy just the A/V software it is cheaper $49, I believe.

If you have a hardware firewall, I'm not a fan of having a software firewall... I say that to let you know that I wouldn't buy the Kaspersky Internet Security Suite unless you are a dialup user.

If you are on Cable or DSL or some other type of broadband AND you have a hardware firewall, I would only purchase Kaspersky Anti-Virus.

Also, I still use Spybot - Search and Destroy and Ad Aware (Although, I have limited experience with the new 2007 version of Ad Aware.. I haven't built feelings towards it). Davin is correct that Spybot has built in spyware detection, but I think Spybot still finds some things that Kaspersky misses since Kaspersky is more designed to find viruses and spyware viruses.

I hope that answers your question.

Thank you gentlemen !

I have been able to start and use Spybot. When it asks to remove anything bad, I click it and it does. However the Adaware program doesn't really seem to work like I think it should. It only scans and then leaves me with option buttons to push, but none really do anything so I just close the window.

Yes, I am on high speed and NOT dialup. I have now been unprotected for a few days and should go NOW to buy the Kasperspy A/V only.

Question, where can I get the A/V version only for near the $50?

I need it for my laptop also.

Thanks again

Carl

Ok, I'm seeing the A/V package available from Kaspersky site for about $60. Here is a really stupid question, but one that I need to understand. It asks how many users. If it's 1 then it's $60 but if it's 3 it's $70

The question is this, although I am the ONLY user but need the program for a PC and a laptop do they see it as 2 users?

Sounds really dumb, but I don't know the answer.

Thanks

Carl

I guess you found somewhere to purchase it

You need a license for each system that the application is running on.

The reason that the pricing is different than Davin and I suspected is because they have Kapersky 7.0 out now. Version 6 was cheaper.

Getting 3 licenses for 10 bucks more is crazy. Probably a mistake that they will fix, or maybe not.. It's a great deal and I'd jump on it.. Actually, I MIGHT jump on it! lol.

I was going to say check out the 30 day trial and then make the purchase so you get an extra 30 days for no payment.. but at that price, instead of risking them changing that price, I'd buy now.
