Comm. Junction Deactivated 2007/05/10 17:27
Logging into CJ recently, it says my account has been deactivated. Has this happened to anyone else?
I'm sure it was because of low clicks and leads numbers, and no sales.
I just submitted an article to like 250 sites, though so I should be getting some hefty traffic soon. Too bad my CJ advertiser links are null. Darn!

I had problems with CJ but not that. For example, some of the companies that I wanted to advertise were deactivated. And I made two sales which I knew of but never got commission. I did get commission on other sales though! I tried to contact them but their contact link was broken. Finally I found a working contact link (before the user logon, not after) and I never got an answer.

I recommend another one I found which started to get me commissions and which has very good features and easy to use. It is shopzilla. The commissions are probably small because that company is already a via to other companies. But the advantage is they have EVERYTHING and good links - such as links to direct search results, categories, pages, anything. I think it is much better for people who are first starting out. You can see an example at:

I also have it on some other sites and I make more money with Shopzilla than any other affiliate program, even though the percentages are lower. When you see how it works you will understand.

Hi,
Yeah. It happened to me too. So I just apply for a new account.

juno,

I thought you may want to know that your links below include honestriches in them, so don't lead to the blogs. I played with the urls and found anakaonline - it looks like a great blog. I'm bookmarking it.

Thanks for the shopzilla info. I'm just starting out and looking for good affiliate programs. I had a product on health insurance I wanted to promote, but because I've heard some mixed reviews on CJ, I'm holding off on that one.

Thanks,
Maryellen

You are right, the link was funny. But I couldn't figure out why and couldn't fix it when I tried!

I am glad you like the blog - there is a lot more I plan to do with it but it has been a bit of a back-burner project. If I get more subscribers I will probably work on it more!

It's mainly meant to be a reference site to save people time on making money online, and I intend to keep out the confusing riff-raf and garbage if you know what I mean.

Yes CJ has been driving me crazy. I also got rid of most other affiliate programs. Shopzilla is definitely the best.

Commission Junction will deactivate an account if it is dormant for 6 months. Dormant, meaning no transactions. Clickthroughs are irrelevant in those figures, at least in my experience. If you make a sale in month one, and nothing else for another 6 months, you lose anything you may have made when the account goes dormant. You CAN email them and request that your account be reactivated without having to sign up.

That's incentive enough for me - CJ is one of those programs that you have to sign up and then get right to work - you can't just sign up and "get around to it eventually".
