Through my experience with Google Adsense, I have found that placing a small picture by each ad increases the Click-through rate by 5% to even 50%. When I started using this tactic, my Adwords revenue almost quadrupled.

okaaay.... but how do you put the picture there? Google puts it there or you make your own? I don't get it.

When you design your site, place your own small relevant pictures above or next to where the Adsense ads will be. It may take some trial and error to get th pictures in the right spot. But due to the law of attraction, people tend to click o the ads with pictures = more $ for you.

Adsense tip in addition to Sean's. It seems that the test ads that are in the body of the text tend to get more attention than the ones that run down the sides. Remember according to Google. your only allowed 3 google ad fields per page and you CAN NOT tell people to click on the ads or click on them yourself. (Didn't know if you knew that)
