Hey guys. I'm Nick and I'm new here. I've been trying to think of niches and I was wondering if a niche could be a tourist attraction. Like a city? Thanks

Hi Nick,

To my understanding, any topic can be a niche as long as there is a certain number of demand (internet searches) and low competition (low competing sites).

Then the question would be how do you monetize it.
If it's a city, maybe by selling holiday packages, or products unique to the city. I guess you would already have something in mind?

Opinions, others?

Btw, welcome to the forum!
Isaac

Thanks for the response Isaac. I've been doing some research and I found an affiliate program that I could use that offers tickets to concerts and attractions specifically in this city. I also found one that offers videos of the city. They offer a percentage, which one be a huge amount of money, but it would be something else I could offer on my website. The only problem is that I was going to buy the one day subscription to wordtracker for 8 bucks, but when I went to purchase it, the lowest amount of time they now offer is the week long subscription for 30 bucks, which I don't have right now. That is setting me back from actually finding out if this could be profitable.

Simply use the free Wordtracker tool, that will do it.
You can also use the google tool, the overture tool or any other free keyword research tool.

Cities can be profitable niches if you find the good sub-niches!

Nick,
Welcome. Have you tried the free trial of wordtracker? I just used it last week for little project I was working on. It is my understanding that you can sign up for the free trial over and over again.

Also, there is a free version of a tool I use that is very helpful when it comes to research. It is called SearchIt and you can use the public free version here http://searchit.homemade-success.com

Finally, your concept for your niche sounds very promising. I know a few different people who have that kind of niche. They monetize through the usual Google ads, of course, but also hotels, bed and breakfast, tourist attractions, car rentals, restaurants, etc. There is a wide range of things you can do with that type of niche.

Certainly worth considering.

Thanks for all of the responses. Well to keep you updated I now have found hotel affiliations along with the other things I listed. I also have found a list of restaurants in the city. I wouldn't be collecting any money from this, but that would be useful information and maybe make people trust me more. Any other things that anyone might think of for a niche that is a city please help me out. Also, this is off-topic, but is the website created by Holly Mann a good thing to do? I was looking at the link above and it doesn't really tell what they do? Do you tell them what type of site you want and they make it or what? Also what about the domain name? How do I get one? Thanks for all of your guys help. I really appreciate you putting up with me.
