Hey guys,

I have a TON of MRR and PLR products and I'm having trouble finding the time to do all the necessary stuff to get it out there to my customers:

Reports need to be read through, edited, and branded, where necessary
Graphics created for eCommerce pages
Products added to eCommerce pages
Detail pages created for each product
Products added and uploaded to the shopping cart

Have any of you worked with anyone who indeed, understand what needs to be done and how to do it? (Looking for referrals here - that don't cost a fortune, of course. :smile:)

A Reality Check for Internet Marketers

For some reason, many people think that Internet Marketing is some kind of "Money Machine" that will immediately fill their bank accounts with gabillions of dollars, and that they'll be able to order a Lamborghini by lunchtime on their first day.

And they expect to be able to achieve this miracle without the knowledge of how to do even the essential computer basics like unzipping a file, or copying files to a webserver.

You Need To Learn Some Basic Skills

This is a great forum, but you won't be able to achieve ANYTHING here unless you are willing to put in the time to learn some basic skills.
And you certainly won't be earning ANYTHING by lunchtime if you are just starting off.

There are lots of great people who are willing to help you with many aspects of internet marketing. But you really need to take a bit of responsibility yourself to learn some basics yourself.

Lets say you wanted to take part in a car race, and turned up at the track. You get into the car, and start asking questions like

- what's this big round thing in front of me?
- what does this little lever beside me do?
- How do I make the car go?
- How do I make the car stop?

So please take the time to educate yourself in the basics that are common everything you do on the internet.

A Magic Autoresponder?

Please don't treat this forum as a "magic autoresponder" where you can ask any question, and have someone magically provide the answer within a few minutes.

And don't be lazy. Don't just jump in and ask things like "What is a zip file" before you've tried typing the question into google and checked out the results.

Be aware that the people answering your questions are giving up their time to do so. Treat them with a bit of respect.

If you've genuinely tried to find out something and failed, tell us what you've already tried to do to find the information you want.

Paying Your Dues

If you want to want to start making money on the internet, you have to take some responsibility to for your own education, and "pay your dues".

This involves learning about the basic procedures that are common to EVERYTHING that you want to do on the internet. Things like:

- How to use folders, directories, and subdirectories.
- How to copy files to your web host.
- How to create hyperlinks.
- How to use zip files
- How to prepare graphics on websites
- How to set permissions on your web server.

None of these things are that difficult, but will seem overwhelming if you have no experience in doing them.

I remember the painful days when I started working with the internet.
It took me ages to do some stupid little thing because I just tried to follow instructions without UNDERSTANDING WHAT I WAS DOING.

If you spend some time learning how the things you want to do fits in with the bigger picture of how the internet works, it will be time very well spent.

Want To Earn Money FAST? - Try Flipping burgers.

If you want to earn money FAST, you'll be far better off by getting a casual job at your local fast food shop than relying on internet marketing.

I reckon you'll earn more money than 98% of the people who ever try their luck earning an income on the internet.
(And your credit card balance will be much healthier, because you won't have spent money on lots of worthless courses)

Yes, it's true that people can earn many thousands of dollars by sitting on a beach sending out an email. But these are invariably people who used their skills to build up a mailing list of people where trust and value has been built up over a long period of time.

So - can you make money on the internet?
Yes, certainly.

But it takes a lot of time, effort, and dare I mention it - WORK.

You'll have to spend literally hundreds of hours at your computer doing various activities. So choose what you do carefully.
(Funny how the gurus selling instant success for $1997 never seem to tell you this in their promotional material)

I suggest that you set aside some time each day to learn about some skill that you will need. there's free training EVERYWHERE. Just use Google.

The Skills Problem
Everyone has different knowledge and skill levels. What is easy to one person might be incomprehensible gibberish to the next person.

So don't be discouraged. Try to learn things a step at a time.
In 6 months, all of the stuff discussed on this forum will seem easy to you.

Places to Start Learning

A good place to start with your Internet Marketing education is with the resources on this forum. Check them out. There are many free and paid options available to you.

If you are prepared to spend a 10 hours or so a week learning about the tools and techniques of internet marketing, then work through Ed Dale's free training program at http://www.thirtydaychallenge.com. This will show you how to use a variety of free tools to start learning how to make money on the internet. (There are also free trials for paid services which will make your life easier.)

But whatever you do, and whatever mentor you choose, ferchrissakes stick to that one person until you've absorbed what you need to know.

Don't chop and change from one person to another continually.

When you were in high school or college, did you go and check out what all the other schools and colleges were doing, and read the notes of the tutors there, and buy the textbooks they used?

Of course not.

So don't be tempted to do this when you are learning internet marketing.

Most courses on a basic topic have similar content. So when you find someone whose style you like, stick with them.

Strangely enough, the most important Internet Skill you can ever develop has nothing to do with the internet.

Or Technology.

Or Computers.

The most important internet skill you can develop is Commonsense.

And the ability to use it to critically analyze the things you come across while looking at your computer screen.

You need to realise that for every piece of advice you receive, there will be an equally persuasive � and opposite � piece of advice.

You have to develop the skill to determine when something applies to you � and when it doesn�t. And also when the advice is such a crock of shite that it�s no good to anyone.

If you are unsure of something and can�t come to a decision about its value it�s often best to ask an expert you can trust.
A couple of minutes talking or a quick email could save you hours of effort and/or thousands of dollars.

The internet appears to be full of wonderful opportunities.
You�ll see endless promises of instant wealth just begging to be funnelled into your bank account if you�ll only buy some ebook, or course, or private membership, or mastermind program for only $29, $49, $77, $197, or more commonly these days, $1997.

You�ll read convincing sales letters that tell of sitting around in your underwear and making several thousand dollars by lunchtime.

Or promise you that you can make $100,000 PER DAY (really!) by using arbitrage with CPA programs.

Offers like these, (and indeed the majority of advertisments you see) are carefully crafted to resonate with your automatic human action triggers

There are 6 of these, as defined by Dr. Robert Cialdini in his book "Influence: the Psychology of Persuasion".

The 6 triggers are:

* Reciprocation: If someone does something for you, your automatic response is to return the favour.
* Committment and Consistency:If we�ve said something or agreed to do something, our future actions tend to be consistent with what we�ve done before.
* Social Proof: stories of other people who have had amazing success with the product. ( ie testimonials)
* Liking: We are more likely to trust someone who is "just like us".
* Authority: Reference to known, respected figures. This is why celebrities are so successful when promoting products.
* Scarcity: the fear of missing out on something.

Marketers, sales people, advertisers, your kids, and your friends make use of these techniques either naturally, or by design in order to influence your decisions, and make you do what they want you to do.

And the internet gives everyone the opportunity and a platform to say their piece. They can say what they like. True or not.

And it�s up to YOU to decide whether their words are true or false, based on various clues that they leave, or on additional research that you can easily perform.

I believe that it is essential to develop the ability to quickly evaluate whatever you see, hear, or read, and determine whether it applies to your situation, and your goals.

Don�t fall for the endless promises of magical "secrets" that will instantly solve all your problems, and give you the ability to earn a high income without putting in any work of some kind.

Think about things. Use your brain. It�s VERY tempting to just give in to the syrupy smooth sales pitches that flow from the minds of highly priced copywriters whose job it is to use every persuasive trick to get you to type in those magic credit card numbers and buy a product.

I strongly encourage you to get a copy of Robert Cialdini�s book, "Influence � The psychology of persuasion" and learn about these triggers, and how they are used.

This is especially important in these days where governments, journalists, marketers, and all kinds of spin doctors try to influence your thoughts and actions by the use of written word and oratory. Skills in identifying these triggers, and when they are used, will allow you to negate their effects, and give you back the power to critically evaluate something according to its merits. Or lack of them.

Be careful. It�s getting rough out there.

WORDPRESS - 2 versions. Don't get confused.

Wordpress is a fantastic website platform that is now extensively used for blogs, websites, and a combination of both.

But most people don't know that there are 2 very different versions.
One is great for your business website, the other is not.

Both versions are free, which adds to the confusion.
If only wordpress has given them different names . . . . .

OK, here we go. This will be pretty painless.

Version 1.
The Wordpress hosted blog at Wordpress.com
This is a centrally hosted and maintained system where where you sign up for an account, log in, and start creating your blog.
Wordpress provide you with free web hosting space, and specify what you can and can't do on the website.
It is the equivalent of the services provided by Blogger and Typepad, and other free blog providers.
This is great for personal sites, or to publish articles, etc. that link back to your main website.
However, due to the restrictions and limitations imposed by this centrally hosted system, it is NOT suitable for your main business website.

Version 2. The Self Hosted Version: - from Wordpress.org
This is the version of Wordpress that is installed on your own hosting account, either by downloading the software and installing it manually, or by using the "Fantastico" installer which is available from most web hosting companies.
THIS version is VERY powerful, and thousands of plugins and extensions are available which can enhance your website and create just about anything you need in the way of your online business.

My own website runs on Wordpress, and uses the free Swift theme which can be customised a lot more easily than many other themes.

So when you see people talking about installing plugins and templates and discussing all the wonderful tricks that they perform using Wordpress, it is the self hosted version from Wordpress.org that they are talking about.

Starting an online business can be a bit daunting for many people, but you know, the way to learn is to do. What was it that good-old Zig Ziglar used to say ... 'you have to be before you can do and do before you can have'.

You want to succeed - right? Well that's great if you do - that's your desire. It's what you want and indeed, what you can have, but it is not the first step. Before you can have what you want, to 'have to do' and that means you have to take action. It is simply the law of cause and effect in operation.

But even before you can do, you have to be, so work on that first. What is it that you want to be? Because that is the start of your journey. When you know what you want to be, the doing will become clear; and finally the having will naturally follow.

One last thing. Take your time to figure out what you want to be. Consider the question thoughtfully - even prayerfully - and expect the process to take time. Answer this question first and the rest will fall into place for you.

This is a business, and you have to make your business grow and dont give up if one thing has'nt worked, Try something else... there are lots of ways to get traffic to your site so dont spend all your time trying to get on the first page of google because you can do very good with different tactics such as submitting articles, social media, list swaps etc etc... as you can see there are tons of ways to get traffic to your website so dont give up, just try a different tactic and you will find one thats suits you well..

Id just like to re-assure all the newcomers to the IM world that if you put alot into this business, then you will get a hell of a lot out of it. Myself and probably thousands of other Marketers struggled when we first started this game. :cursing: You will make it if you get taught the right way.

If you do a little research into one of these niches and break it down into a smaller niche, For instance:

Lets say you go into the Pets niche. you can do a niche about Dog traing or you can have a niche about Dog Grooming..

I hope you guys understand were im getting at here. You dont have to start a niche on something you already have Knowlege about because people might not be interested in that subject... Do some research on your niche and then look for some long tail keywords because all the short tail ones have gone and i do just as good on long tail keywords....

Making your Article #1 on Google!!!

Hi everyone,

I was recently told that the key to making your article no.1 on Google
is to pack it with your niche's keywords in specific spots.

Firstly to write the title as the exact keyword e.g. "Migrain Relief"

Than as the first words of your article you sould write your keyword again
"Migrain Relief" is....

Apparently Google love's this!
Add your keyword another two times in the main body...
(For a 300 word article)... and this should do it!!!

You Tube to generate traffic, does it work?

I decided to try YouTube as a method of generating traffic so I uploaded a short promo video to see what happened. Well to say the results were disappointing is an understatement!
Has anyone got any tips for generating traffic on You Tube or is it worth bothering with?
There seems to be a lot of internet/affiliate marketing stuff on there but none of them seem to have all that many hits.
So what's the general verdict?

When I first started "internet marketing" I was quite excited about all the ebooks and software programs and ezines and courses and video clips and membership sites that I could join, own, grab, download for FREE.

After a while I discovered that the word FREE isn't all it's cracked up to be. I realised I had spent countless hours downloading, filing, reading and installing all of these freebies. I had so much stuff to read that I was getting confused. I was being bombarded with emails and offers for all these "amazing" OTOs that "only cost $X" if I bought them before the magical clock stopped.

I know other people have had this similar experience of being overwhelmed by information and not knowing where to go and how to stop.

I learned that there is no such thing as FREE. You pay with your time, your money or your email address and if you don't need something, why waste time grabbing it.

I believe that this is an easy trap for newbies to fall into and I hope that some of you will learn form my mistake and don't fall into the same trap.

Focus on what you are doing and only grab what you need, regardless of the "cost" associated with it.
