Both Kevin and Paul are very busy these days and may not be available for a week starting May 12th-2010.
Reed is still in Canada ,as far as I know ,so the May Competition is late.

Before we get to that,the April Competition has 3 more winners--richardjes, The Joker, and Dave Hill because 3 other members have entered and won several competitions and have donated their prizes back into the prize pool.Would the 3 winners please contact the administrators next week.
So special thanks to keries , lexxmarzain, and falcon1959 for contributing their prizes to allow further winners to get a boost in internet marketing.

Suggest a future competition.
Other members may comment and suggest improvements on the idea.

Prizes:

1st prize for best suggestion--$150 + actual usage of the suggestion in July + choosing the Charity of his/her preference to receive the 314 payments of $1 for the Tsunami video introduction which is now free.

2nd prize for best improvement or implementation of the idea --$100

3rd prize for the 2nd best idea--$50 + actual usage of the suggestion in August

This adds up to $300 in cash prizes donated by Paul Lynch.

My Idea is for everyone to send in their top IM tip that they have used that has made a real difference to their online business.

out of all the tips received the top 50 will be chosen and turned into a PDF report that could be offered to forum members in return for a donation that would go to charity.

The winners would be chosen from the top 50 tips and the top 3 tips would receive the prizes.

If choosing the best 50 tips is too time consuming this could be reduced to the top 20 or even the top 10.

With the idea in place this could go live on the 1st day of the month that the competition would be run. The cut off date for tips would be half way through the month, which would leave 2 weeks to choose the top 50 and announce the winners.

I take it we are supposed to start the new thread in the main internet marketing forum. I hope so as I have done just that

To make this months competition simpler, add your competition entries to this thread, and label it "" May Comp--"Your Idea Title"".

Sure,why not? As long as it is titled "" May Comp--"Your Idea Title"", we can find and compile them for deciding the winners.
It might be a good idea to also post it here and then link to the other thread using the blue-green icon above.

{ May Comp--"Power Point Video" } Using Microsoft Powerpoint to create a promotional Video promoting either your own website or a CBA product.

Video's should be no longer than 2 min. Audio optional either you talking through the presentation or suitable backing music.

I think everybody should do a short video promoting the CBA.

1. Each participant would need to produce a 2 - 3 minute video aimed at promoting the CBA (If everybody installs a trial version of Camtasia, Learns how to use it and makes a short video then this is step 1) you can see how to make a video

They would then need to embed the video into their blog or website.

They would also need to install Google Analytics onto their site and add some goals to track views or clickthroughs on the video.

The overal aim is to get the video up in You Tube with a link (Affiliate) back to CBA with the main goal of getting the video listed in the search engines for a specific keyword/keywords.

The shortlist is made up of only people who can show proof of their video reaching page 1-3 of Google (Screenshot of Google Listing) you can learn how to do a screenshot

And then the winner is picked by a guest judge.

The overall aim with this competition idea is to 1. TAKE ACTION 2. LEARN and 3. EARN

Also a competition with out competing. A lot of marketers call for drum rolls so I think I will make some drum rolls to order eg crash bang wallop, plain, long, short or special requests. The idea is when a blogger says drum roll please a button gives the audio of a drum roll.

I have been posting all sorts of ideas without posting them due to thinking that the preview was posting so who can invent a pop up to say have you posted yet?

Meanwhile folks I am sure that people are getting fed up of seeing my ugly mush on these competitions so let's see some action! I am getting bored of receiving prizes just for turning up. Like I have said before if all 44000 members give me $1 I will take a break

How about a best suggestion of the month e.g. When the world cup competition starts will we have a cool product to market to the fans. Maybe one of those electronic notices that the fans can use to send messages to the refs like that annoying flashing banner that is calling me a Get every 2 seconds. Or a product that we all market as a JV and split the profits so we all win.

The quickest way to load up an auto responder with follow ups etc

What about a competition to make as many 1-way links to the forum from external sites that we set up to help Paul and Kevin stay top?

Produce a system that makes residual money

Have a swap shop e,g. I will swap my Bill Myers 10 DVD set of how to produce videos for something else.

Have a quiz

Have a series of instruction that when followed brings about a result so that the first person to implement the instructions gets the prize.

Produce an infomercial for a cba abc or cab product from different points of view. They all look the same to me except when I blink rapidly

Thanks ,Vince. I don't feel that providing ideas is a hard competition .People are quick to speak up when an error is made to come up with ideas .They are quick to complain and aren't complaints ideas ?

Or is it because I posted the competition and everyone expected Reed to make it official by posting it originally ? If I were thin skinned I would have my feelings hurt by now with the lack of responses.

Or is it the time of year ?

Ideas are 10 a penny but some people are afraid to spout out like I do for a number of reasons ranging from fear of looking or sounding daft (it has never bothered me) to not wanting a good idea be found by someone else and they run off with it.

Oh! here is another idea I have just thought up....As we are or hope to be true successful marketers have a competition to market the competition and the person who gets the most people to sign up for the forum membership and enter the competition gets a prize.

The person entering has to mention the user name of their referrer to be counted and no double entries are allowed. Also the person has to make a small comment in the thread to say why they felt it was important for them or what compelled them to enter. The best reason will be given a prize and the introducer will be given a prize. All the people who take part will gain insight into what makes people do things and therefore help in marketing to others. It could also include a tracking tool to prove where the new member came from.

Another one could be a great looking attractive photograph with an appropriate caption e.g. A big plump lady is about to sit on a drawing pin on a seat next to you on a bus, you are pictured in the picture as having seen this situation and the caption could be "What Would You Do?" or could we make it into an advert for thick underwear etc

Or search for the most useless sign e.g. A sign on a shot gun saying misuse may cause injury. The packet of mixed nuts saying may contain nuts etc.

Meanwhile Bill don't be down hearted as if I win I will send you a bottle of that Navy rum for dealing with your next bought of flu.
