Add a new post to this thread called{ May Comp--"Your Idea Title" }
Suggest a future competition.
Other members may comment and suggest improvements on the idea.

Prizes:

1st prize for best suggestion--$150 + actual usage of the suggestion in July + choosing the Charity of his/her preference to receive the 314 payments of $1 for the Tsunami video introduction which is now free.

2nd prize for best improvement or implementation of the idea --$100

3rd prize for the 2nd best idea--$50 + actual usage of the suggestion in August

This adds up to $300 in cash prizes donated by Paul Lynch.

May Comp --The C.B.A. 5O Top Tips

My Idea is for everyone to send in their top IM tip that they have used that has made a real difference to their online business.

out of all the tips received the top 50 will be chosen and turned into a PDF report that could be offered to forum members in return for a donation that would go to charity.

The winners would be chosen from the top 50 tips and the top 3 tips would receive the prizes.

If choosing the best 50 tips is too time consuming this could be reduced to the top 20 or even the top 10.

With the idea in place this could go live on the 1st day of the month that the competition would be run. The cut off date for tips would be half way through the month, which would leave 2 weeks to choose the top 50 and announce the winners.

{ May Comp--"Power Point Video" } Using Microsoft Powerpoint to create a promotional Video promoting either your own website or a CBA product.

Video's should be no longer than 2 min. Audio optional either you talking through the presentation or suitable backing music.

To make life easier upload to youtube and embed into the thread

Hi Guys,

I think everybody should do a short video promoting the CBA.

1. Each participant would need to produce a 2 - 3 minute video aimed at promoting the CBA (If everybody installs a trial version of Camtasia, Learns how to use it and makes a short video then this is step 1) you can see how to make a video

They would then need to embed the video into their blog or website.

They would also need to install Google Analytics onto their site and add some goals to track views or clickthroughs on the video.

The overal aim is to get the video up in You Tube with a link (Affiliate) back to CBA with the main goal of getting the video listed in the search engines for a specific keyword/keywords.

The shortlist is made up of only people who can show proof of their video reaching page 1-3 of Google (Screenshot of Google Listing) you can learn how to do a screenshot

And then the winner is picked by a guest judge.

The overall aim with this competition idea is to 1. TAKE ACTION 2. LEARN and 3. EARN

I'd like to suggest an improvement to Falcons idea, particularly the charity aspect.

Maybe once the 50 tips are done CBA could approach a publisher and we could turn this into a physical book that is sold on Amazon with all proceeds going to charity. The winners whose tips are in the book get a bio and link back to their websites.

I would love to get involved and drive something like this.

The only improvement i would like to put forward on Lex's idea is to make it COMPULSORY to download a free trial of Camtasia 7 and use that to make the video. It has a function for videoing Powerpoint.

But the main reason for this improvement is that everybody will have learnt a new skill and will be able to use the best video capture tool on the market.

Meanwhile .... How about a best step by step cheat sheet on how to produce a video using powerpoint, you tube and linking techniques and camtasia or some other method and the best and easiest one to follow is awarded a prize the best video produced is awarded a prize and the best reason as to why the best video is the best wins a prize?

How about... Making a template for the monthly competitions so that all Reed and/or Bill need to do is enter the goal or purpose of the competition and the methods to be used to accomplish said goals or purposes.

When a particularly good effort is made by an entrant Kevin and or Paul could give a spot prizes as an extra incentive to increase participation in the competitions. Also if anyone uses what they see to good effect they too can give a gift to show their appreciation.

Most rules will be similar in all competitions but can be changed as the need arises but not during the competitions.

We could also have a post mortem to give our view on why we thought the winner was the winner e.g. it was the most original or practical or best eye opening etc and a prize could be given to the one who is closest to the judges reasons.

How about a best suggestion of the month e.g. When the world cup competition starts will we have a cool product to market to the fans. Maybe one of those electronic notices that the fans can use to send messages to the refs like that annoying flashing banner that is calling me a Get every 2 seconds. Or a product that we all market as a JV and split the profits so we all win.

The best and quickest way to load up an auto responder with follow ups that works How to do it and why it is the best way.

What about a competition to make as many 1-way links to the forum from external sites that we set up to help Paul and Kevin stay top?

Produce a system that makes residual money that we can all try out to test it's performance and profitability.

Have a swap shop e,g. I will swap my Bill Myers 10 DVD set of how to produce videos for something else. This could be set up as a negotiation post whereby someone has a product and an offer is made for it but if anyone has a piece of advice or reason why it is a good deal or not then they can make the relevant suggestions. The main idea is to see how others interact in a negotiation.

Have a quiz on internet marketing

Have a series of instruction that when followed brings about a result so that the first person to implement the instructions gets the prize. E.g. each instruction gives a clue to a download page that is password protected but you can only find out what the password is if you follow the instructions

Produce an infomercial for a cba product

As we are or hope to be true successful marketers have a competition to market the competition and the person who gets the most people to sign up for the forum membership and enter the competition gets a prize.

The person entering has to mention the user name of their referrer to be counted and no double entries are allowed. Also the person has to make a small comment in the thread to say why they felt it was important for them or what compelled them to enter. The best reason will be given a prize and the introducer will be given a prize. All the people who take part will gain insight into what makes people do things and therefore help in marketing to others. It could also include a tracking tool to prove where the new member came from.

A great looking attractive photograph with an appropriate caption e.g. A big plump lady is about to sit on a drawing pin on a seat next to you on a bus, you are pictured in the picture as having seen this situation and the caption could be "What Would You Do?" or could we make it into an advert for thick underwear etc

Search for the most useless sign e.g. A sign on a shot gun saying misuse may cause injury. The packet of mixed nuts saying may contain nuts etc. Up load photo of sign and give location of where it is.
