it depend what you consider free.
sometimes free trafficc involved taking task and actions to be done.

seo for example can get you free traffic but in consist of free time also to work on it.

Honestly you can do almost everything on a small budget that you can do on a large budget the only difference will be the time it takes.

Big budget = fast results, Small Budget = a lot slower. (that is if you do the right things)

apart from domain, host and a autoresponder(there are free ones) you can build a website, make products to sell and promote them without spending a dime.

As far as traffic exchanges go they are only useful if the product you are selling is targeted at that market. beyond that they are only useful for convincing Alexa that your site is popular and lower you rating.

Yea thanks Lex, I think I'll use TE's to a certain degree but won't waste too much time on them as it seems to me the traffic is hardly targetted or qualified most of the time.

I think I'll be looking more at articles and links, and hopefully getting some affiliates so I won't have to do this stuff half as much and I can focus on the real core functions of my business.

that all sounds well and good there is a lot to marketing and internet marketing is definitely no exception. As a matter of fact it is a lot like work. lol
