    Article submission for March Competition:

    Pots of Gold

For almost a year I had toyed with the idea of setting up my own online business. I already knew enough about computers and the internet to be dangerous if left along for any period of time with either at my disposal.

I would fiddle around with this and that searching for a way to make a living form the internet without having to slave away day and night. What I found was 101 ‘Click me and you’ll be rich’ buttons and offers and I tried them one after another to no great avail.

I believed I had missed something or was just unlucky. Obviously this system I had just bought had been around for a while and people where always after the next new thing. If only I had stopped and thought about that last statement I would have saved myself so much time and money.

I was blinded by my own greed and ignorance.

Eventually I gave up and got on with my life only to get married and (as it stands now) have two wonderful boys. Yet I wasn’t content slaving away the hours I could be spending with my newly formed family. So I returned to the internet business idea a little wiser and a lot more realistic.

My responsibilities where far greater than they had ever been before, this became my anchor, my constant and my driving force. So I set out again this time with realistic goals and a true sense of purpose which I had lacked before.

I eventually found my pot of gold at the end of the URL rainbow, but it wasn’t filled with wealth beyond my dreams. It wasn’t filled with paying subscribers and it wasn't filled with 'one click money machine systems'.

    It was filled with knowledge.

As for my online empire, well I’m not quite there yet but at least now I can see where it will be and how to get there. I just need to take the journey.

What a Good Marketing Web Site Should Have (Part 1)

Many people ask when starting out in this industry, “What should my website
look like and what should it contain?”To answer this question we should
first of all ask ourselves “What is the purpose of the website?” Once
we know where we are heading it is far easier to arrive at the answers to our questions.

Let us say for instance that we are selling a widget. The reason for selling this particular
widget is that we have done our homework and found that there is a market with credit
cards in hand ready to buy such widgets. We also need to, as it were, get into the heads
of our market. By answering questions such as :

    · What are the benefits of this widget
    · What is the purpose of this widget?,
    · What will this widget do for me?
    · If I was the prospect would I buy it from here?
    · Can this widget be obtained elsewhere and if so why buy here?

For the purpose of this article we will assume that many other questions
are asked, and answered, in order to get in the frame of mind that
our prospective customer will be in on arrival to our site.

The site itself then should first of all grab the attention of the prospect by
having an interesting headline. We know from our homework that the
prospect will be interested in the product but will he/she stay around long
enough to get to the point of sale? Once the headline grabs their attention we need to
highlight the benefits of the product and we can’t do this unless the
“copy” (techie talk for what we write) holds the attention until the mission is accomplished.

We should endeavour to further educate the prospect with interesting facts
that build the prospects desire to purchase the widget at any cost. Whoa!

What do you mean any cost? Surely you don’t mean that?…. Providing you have done
your job correctly… there should be no reason whatsoever why
    the
prospect will not buy from you. Of course the price you set will also
    be well
researched and tested (test and test and test again test everything
but that in itself will require further articles to explain)

Just to recap let’s see what we have so far:
    1. A well researched market with credit cards in hand
    2. A product to satisfy the market’s desire
    3. A sales page that contains compelling informative and desire building copy

OK…. Let us now round up with probably the most important piece of the jigsaw…the call to
Action namely get your card out and buy me what are you waiting for buy now
while we still have them at this stupid ridiculously low super price?
You may use bonuses, limited time offers (inertia selling) but you must give
reasons why you are making the offers and above all they must be genuine honest and ethical.

Seriously you must have a method by which the prospect can purchase your product.
Without this you can’t sell your widgets.
In this article I have just scraped
the surface of this very large subject and chosen a very simple one page sales letter
    to accomplish
the task of selling a widget. There are innumerable other ingredients that can and
do make a big difference to successful marketing using web sites
    the essentials are:

    · A good Attention grabbing headline
    · Great Interesting and informative copy
    · Desire created by the copy
    · The call to Action and the method to purchase

Yes good old fashioned AIDA strikes again it’s tried and tested and works so apply it in your sales copy.

With the many older methods still being used on and off line these days to overcome the cynics and sceptics the use
of video presentations are used to good effect. A sales letter both on and off line has been referred to often as a salesperson in print
with video presentations you can cut out the print and just have the salesperson. This method can actually help sales as many
of the prospects are coming out of schools these days unable to read but still spending money or use both video running along with
a sales page so the page is read out by the person in the video as this helps those that can’t read and also gives more
    inputs to those that can.

Just one more point that can be used to good effect is the ethical bribe. E.g. join this fantastic site

The Loneliness of a Long Distance List Builder

Everyday another name another bit of interest another campaign and another trip to the bank. That's no good! I will never make money like this! What am I doing wrong? Is it me or is it something out of my control?

Have you asked any of these questions about your internet business? Have you been striving to get going and every which way you turn you run into a brick wall? Many marketers or would be marketers get so frustrated with wasting money on campaigns that just appear to suck money from their bank accounts instead of pulling money into them.

Many say you should build your list. Many say you need a massive list and others say you only need the right list. Who gives the best information on these subjects of list building?

The scientific way to go about resolving the answers to these questions is first form a hypothesis test the hypothesis and note the results from the tests and draw conclusions based on these results.

Now you could do all these things yourself or you could find out if someone has already done the tests and drawn the conclusions.

Lets just take one or two of the ideas put forward. You have all probably heard the myth that the money is in the list. However a little digging will tell you if that was completely true the people with the biggest lists will get the most money. Those people who have bought CD's with 100,000 names on will tell you they don't make much money if any before they are closed down for spamming.

So lets dig a little deeper. How do we get a list or lists that not only is of a reasonable size but of the quality that will have on going earning potential. In other words a list that we can turn into a cash cow. We are talking of targeted lists, having on them the right people for the right products we offer to them. The lists come from the right traffic at the right time for it and supplying the right products to them.

All this takes hard work, remember nothing worth having comes without a fair exchange of effort or value. However all these things can be made much, much easier by having a system, a proven system that works. That system today is found within the new Elite Money Making Club where experts in the various skills needed are gathered to encourage and support it's members to not only become proficient in these skills but also provide the products that will sell in the current marketplace. Don't delay join today.

Default 5 Essentials for SEO Domination - How Many Do You Use?

Few would disagree that SEO is one of the most important aspects of having a top ranking website or blog. SEO should be used as an integral part of your overall ranking strategy, and is vitally important coupled with keyword research, on page SEO, back-linking, sitemaps and article submission creating an allround search engine dominating force. This article explores 5 essential tips for SEO domination that can be started right now.

    1. Keywords are important - but the right keywords relevant to your site and on page SEO are vitally important. To optimise your webpage for your keywords involves placing your keywords in your Title tag (the thin blue line at the top of your page), within your H1 and H2 tags on your webpage and strategically placed within the first paragraph of your main text. Although some Internet Marketers do not consider this as important it is worth completing this step in your overall strategy. Search engines crawling the internet now have a better chance of finding your site and indexing your site for the keywords you chose.

    2. Submiting articles to high ranking article sites is a sure way to receive traffic and increase your overall ranking with the search engines. The most popular article site is ezinearticles.com who follow strict guidelines for submission of your articles but in return you can receive free traffic and back links with very little effort. Outsourcing article writing is a very smart way to maximise the number of articles you can submit for a relatively small investment saving you time and the effort of writing articles yourself.

    3. Back linking has become a very important aspect of traffic generation and search engine ranking. By receiving high PR (Page Rank) backlinks from as many sources as possible (naturally) search engines value your webpage as more important over time. Finding high ranking websites to submit links to can be difficult but well worth the effort - several tools exist to help find these and many products have been created to submit and find high PR relevant websites. These links add credibility to your site and have proven themselves to be highly effective in SEO domination.

    4. Sitemap submission is also important allowing search engines to see your website. Submitting your site to the major search engines gives your site an extra boost when the robots crawl the net looking for new sites. Submitting your sitemap is relatively easy and some platforms such as wordpress have plugins which do this automatically for you. Do not forget this step in your overall strategy.

    5. Keyword research is vital to your success and what can be the most exciting stage of SEO domination is finding the right keywords with minimal competition but targeted and relevant traffic. What keywords do your customers use to search for your product and are they buying when finding the information they need? Your goal is to find targetted keywords relevant to your site, and how your customers are searching when using those keywords - the good news is there are products available to help with this research and many forums also teach these skills.

The tips outlined above when used together will help increase your online presence and ensure the major search engines "find" your site in the maze that we call the Internet. Some of these tips alone can create massive amounts of traffic but ideally combining them all should become standard practise when lauching any new or existing site.

To find out how to explode your traffic and dominate your niche in every way visit

    Default Re: March Competition

After receiving a PM this morning from Paul about the March competition I decided to
pen an article with my thoughts on why people are not successful.

Hopefully it will inspire others to enter this competition.

Are you a Fence Sitter or Action Taker?

Now I guess by now you have seen this slogan which is usually has a what seems like
mandatory place at the bottom of product upgrades especially giveaways.

    It goes something like this.

    Few people take action!

Some people watch but do nothing!

    Most people ask what happened?

But have you really thought about what it means?

Have you seen the statistics on how many people retire wealthy?

Financial planners just love to tell us this stuff at their retirement seminars.

Here's a quote I wrote down from one such seminar.

"According to the social security administration, 95% of people in the world today are either
dead or dead broke by the time they hit retirement."

Do you think that these two are connected?

    I do!

Hey we are humans and as such we are basically lazy creatures. Most of us live for today
and just let the future look after itself. Some of us even see successful people as
lucky people who found the goose that laid the golden egg. We basically don't believe
that we can be successful. We have limiting beliefs reinforced by our family and friends.

So how do we get off the fence and break the cycle?

    Take action and do something!

OK we might fail but if we do nothing we get nothing so at least we have a chance of
    success if you do something.

But what has this to do with EMMC, PC Google or SEO Secrets?

Everything because just buying them or any other product for that matter is not going to
make you successful. Unwrapping them and using them is not a guarantee of success either
but it will give you a chance of being successful.

So get off the fence and just do something towards your future success.
    Start by checking out the

    .
You never know by taking action you might just win one of their great prizes.

There have now been 9 votes.

1 article entry and 1 question entry have each received votes from 5 members, (well done).

Keep voting, you have until the end of the month to get your vote counted.

10 votes now, which means that less than half the people who entered the competition have voted. The same thing happened with the February competition the number of members who voted was less than half of the number of people who entered the competition.

If you are someone who entered the competition and have not yet voted yet you still have time; go on vote for yourself; vote for someone else; choose as many or as few as you want.

If you didn't enter the competition and have not yet voted, get your vote in, again choose as many or as few as you like.

Paul and Kevin thanks for sending out the PM to all members. We now have had 17 votes.

I have updated the poll to show the subject of each of the questions and articles.

Wonderful work from everybody who participated! This was not an easy decision, by any means. However, I finally chose one article and one question based on the rules given for the competition. Some of the reasons that the question or article was voted out was on a mere technicality. Like I said before, it was a very hard choice. With the permission of the authors, I'd like to use some of these articles on my blog at

I also would like to try to answer some of the questions that were asked, if that's okay. This would also be a way to alert more IM'ers about the forum.
